Nope, I've never noticed that...beyond the standard people talking about how *insert culture here* always saying one is better then the other. But then again, I don't browse comments so meh.

All you really need to know is that yes, it's superficial and shallow.
The people who post that are almost invariably weeaboos who hunger for any opportunity to make themselves seem pitiable. It's the result of a bad case of attention-whoring and an unhealthy obsession with everything Japanese.
Some people are willing to do anything to seem special, mostly BAWWWing about irrelevant things or constantly shoving their "speshul" preferences in your face. If you meet someone like that, do not try to argue with them - simply facepalm, sigh and imagine how they'll feel when they find out that the world isn't as they imagined it, and that Japan isn't full of big-breasted schoolgirls more than willing to sleep with pasty, acne-ridden Caucasian losers with the hygiene of a rotting whale and the future prospects of a secretary in a business innovation company.
Hah, nice analogy there.
That reminds me, during my time in art college I had the misfortune of meeting one of these people in person - she basically acted like she was still 13-14, browsing websites during class, giving smack to teachers, generally didn't take things seriously. She was also notoriously difficult to work with on group projects since she was stubborn as a mule and prone to throwing fits when things didn't go her way.
A shame, really.

Anime fans who prefer Japanese culture are no worse than these hardcore western people who wont even admit to liking anime in front of people, and have to watch everything dubbed no matter how terrible it is.
And anybody who uses the word "weeaboo" to insult somebody for their preference is a @#$%ing idiot for dragging a meme into it, thus drowning whatever their original point was in buckets of stupidity.

Ok let me put it clearer. If somebody loaths American, or even western culture in general, and loves all things Japanese and asain. Then thats their opinion and theres nothing wrong with that. I get people who arent into nerdy stuff looking down on anime/video game/comic/etc fans. I dont like it, but I get it. But people who are into nerdy stuff and look down onthers for their nerdome are the lowest class of retardation.
And before you try and deny being one...
Just because I badmouth those
cross-eyed imbeciles who glorify Japanese culture
and cry about how they "aren't Japanese", it doesn't mean that I'm myself a closeted weeaboo.
And, on the third hand, I'd like to cement that I
hate people who watch dubs. I loathe them.
Just because somebody prefers Japanese entertainment/culter to their own, dosnt make them an imbicile. Hating on somebody for doing that,
DOES
make you an imbicile. So does hating on people just for prefering dubs. There is nothing I revile more than people who look down their nose at others for a @#$%ing personal preference. Especially when that person themselves is into stuff they would classify as "geeky".

I'm just curious - whence the hating on dubs? Is it because they're inexact, or because they're corporate, or what?
A large number of dubs butcher the episodes, put incredibly lame jokes in, censor things all willy nilly, and choose voice actors that don't usually work.

That and honestly Japanese voice actors in many cases just seem to try harder and fit better. There are exceptions though. Hellsing had an awesome dub compared to the sub par Japanese version. Shin-Chan is widley considered a lot funnier and has much better jokes than the Japanese version as well.

Inexact is putting it lightly in many cases. I feel like just mentioning that, while dubbing, they had to rename 'Detective Conan' 'Case Closed' because of copyright issues concerning the 'Conan the Barbarian' brand. They alter things just as much so that their American audience can 'relate' to them. If you have to have half of the cast renamed in order for you to 'relate' to the characters, you probably aren't going to like the show much anyways.
Speaking of which, every chapter has me biting my nails right now. I've been so incredibly nervous lately. I feel like visiting so many youtube videos because I totally called it.
Also, because this thread was buried for so long; I feel like this new Lupin III series is taking quite a few liberties. I never read the manga, but this is so much more 18+ than I remember the original anime ever being. I kind of miss the boxing glove blowing Lupin away when he dived at Fujiko.. Fujiko-chaaaaan~ *punch*
Edit:Has anyone else been having trouble with the above posted manga site when trying to read some of the more well known titles? Detective Conan,Naruto,Bleach, etc etc.

You mean slow downs, some times pages won't load, or you'll get to the end of a chapter and the site goes wonky? I've experienced those, but usually just exit out and go back to fix it up.

Oh hey, look at that
; I really need to stop paying attention to the first page of Mangareader lol; but Witch Craft Works is another good read.

Thanks Adamsm, Girls of the Wild's was the first Manga I read and I enjoyed it. Looking forward to the rest of that one when it comes out.
I also started Witch Craft Works and it seems like a good read.

Heh, no problem man; I'd also suggest Fairy Tail, but that's mainly because I'm such a huge fan of the series.

Yeah, I started watching the series for it but kinda stopped after the second episode because something else came up. I'll probably start it up again here soon.

Heh, yeah, I'm finally getting around to watch the series as well; but like most of the stuff, the manga is just 'better'.

Heh, I think I should just make a favorite to the random page link on Mangareader; after promising myself a day or two off from manga, ended up getting entranced by
Immortal Regis
/sigh lol.

Yeah, the images just never load for me, for most of the more well known manga. Anyways, Bleach is a slaughterhouse so far. It seems almost pointless to me to kill off characters that narrowly survived the last arc, so I hope they don't even bother.
