What is Portal XL 4.0? If it's a modification for phpbb3, just stick to the phpbb3-guides.

Portal XL 4.0 is a portal mod for phpbb3 and unfortunately, it uses tooltip scripts. =/ This causes issues and won't allow Wowhead priority.

Where can I found a Portal XL 4.0 download link or a development page? An online-demo would be great, too.

I'd love to integrate this with my Mediawiki page on my website. I've been able to get the tooltips to work, but the background is completely white and it makes it impossible to see the text. Anyone have any suggestions or have worked on this themselves and could post up what they did?
Have you tried
document.write('<script src="
http://www.wowhead.com/widgets/power.js"></scr'
+ 'ipt>');? Works for me on a MediaWiki installation. Are you adding it to a .js page, or just any random page?
I have the same problem with my MediaWiki installation. I've inserted the script into various files of my wiki site, including the LocalSettings.php, and Monobook.php and all have the same result. Tooltip is there, but with white text on white background.
See example
.
Then what I discovered is that if I select any skin other than Monobook, the tooltips look just fine. Basically, this tells me there's something about the Monobook.css that is overwriting whatever styles are created/used by the wowhead widget. I don't know styles that well, and after trying a number of changes in the css file (trial and error method) I still couldn't find which style/class was the right one to fix this.
Would love some help with this. I'd really like to stick with the Monobook skin (since the others all look like crap), but the tooltips are fairly worthless since you can't read white text on a white background. :(
Thanks for a great function of a great site, and thanks in advance for any assistance on getting this working with MediaWiki's MonoBook skin!

A quick follow-up to my post right above. I took a look at the power.css on the wowhead site -- which is apparently the stylesheet that
powered.js
references -- and located this code:
.wowhead-tooltip td td{background:none;}
I discovered that if I changed it from "none" to "black", and then add this line to the very end of monobook.css on my own site, my tooltips are readable, as they now have a black background. The downside is, there's this white block where it would normally say "Cloth" (in
this example
), or "Plate" or whatever. How strange is that?
So, I guess this is a pseudo work-around, however, I wonder if anyone can help me out by providing what I'd need to have the classy looking semi-transparent background -- WITHOUT the white block -- that the standard wowhead tooltip has.
Thanks again!

the website is a portal and that is the mod I use for phpbb3. Wowhead scripts are *not* working.

Question: this site have many localisations... but haven't Russian localisation... too bad... many Russian players use this site, but have problems with translate... could you do something with this problem?

I've installed a fresh phpbb3 and Portal XL 5.0 Plain on my machine and i follewed my instructions. Just go to ACP > Styles > Style Components > Templates -> Select your current theme > Click "Edit" > Select "Overall / overall_header.html" and then insert the <script>-Tag's with the wowhead-tooltip-script.
I've also created the bbcode and test it in the "Welcome to your phpbb installation" thread. Works great.
The Mod-Version by CrackPot should also work.
could you do something with this problem?
When World of Warcraft is avaiable in russian, than wowhead will be avaiable in russian, too.

Has anyone had any luck implementing this into Wordpress 2.5.1?
Horris' almost works but doesn't seem to show a black background or icon. Any info would be helpful.

Marcimi, the links work and the tooltip works but the link itself is not colored..even though I am using the colored BB Code.
http://dev.aetho.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3
- sample thread.
By the way, the theme I am using - wowgold - does not have the following code:
<!-- IF S_CONTENT_DIRECTION eq 'rtl' -->
<link href="{T_THEME_PATH}/bidi.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen, projection" />
<!-- ENDIF -->
</head>
So I just added this to the header:
<!-- WoWHead Mouseover-Tooltips -->
<script src="
http://www.wowhead.com/widgets/power.js"
type="text/javascript"></script>
<!-- /WoWHead Mouseover-Tooltips -->

I've checked your source code.<a class="4" href="
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=21275"
onclick="this.target='_blank';" rel="nofollow">Something epic</a>
You've forgot the
q
in the class name.
Change class="4" to class="
q
4"
This should work.

Is there a way to do this automatically so the user does not have to place the quality in there?

For those that were wondering how to post this little script in Guild Portal:
this thread should help you out.
Google ftw!

I think crackPot has realized this feature in his
phpbb mod
. If you're running a vbulletin message board, you should take a look at
this mod
, written by sweede.

As I said, you forgot the "q" in the class name. Check the quoted HTMl-Replacement.

Greetings.
I am very interested in getting this to work on the guild forum I use. I am not the moderator or an admin. I have read a lot of what is posted on here and I'm very sorry to say that I understand nothing. I have been able to make a pop-up thingie, when hovering over an item/recipe name... But it doesn't look at all like the ones here. It is very clustered and doesn't contain information such as materials required to make an item. I was wondering if someone here would be so kind and take some time out of their busy day to help me. I was thinking it could be done on MSN, maybe even voice. I know nothing about scripting I'm afraid. (I'm a girl, I just want it to look pwetty ;) ) I realise that something may have to be added or changed in the forum set up, but I'd like to be able to explain to the forum admin what it is I'd like them to do to make it work. If that makes sense... =S I'm sorry, I often confuse myself ;P I promise to be a good student *cleans halo*
I am not entirely sure how, if anyone is willing to help me, we can sort out the MSN exchanging. I'm not really keen on just posting my adress here, cuz I'm worried I'll get all sorts of weirdos trying to add me ;)
Thank you for your time and efforts in making this script. It looks very very nice and I hope to be able to make it work.

Is it possible to have the tooltip appear without the image?
