The biggest problem with a ret pally now is controlling burst damage. We have no control over command procs and this hinders our ability to burst efficiently. So by getting reckoning you are going to further put your faith into another proc? Divine storm is an attack that allows us to finally control our burst dmg. Imagine an arena match (which is what i care about) against a resto druid and warrior. You have spec'd reckoning and the warrior is on hitting you the entire time. You get the druid down to half health, and and pop wings, the druid has to come out of bear form to heal so you stun him to prevent heals and begin your burst. Crusader strike, white hit (pray seal of command procs) judgment of command. stun ends w/ druid at 5% health, he nature swifts back up and goes back into bear form. reckoning procs now and you get your double swing while druid is in bear form, a lot of the damage is mitigated from armor, and you fail to kill the druid. Divine storm gives a controlled attack to add to your burst and would have finished the druid before the stun wears off. Reckoning would add luck and take away control. What happens if the warrior doesnt go for you at all? you end up with a lvl 70 build on a lvl 80 Character.

Again with this bad idea...
For PvP:
-Seal of Command cannot proc off of the added reckoning attacks.
-Seal of Blood/Martyr is a bad idea for PvP, because it hurts you.
-You cannot control Reckoning. It has a 10% chance to work every time you take damage...And a 90% chance that it won't.
-For the 25 points you have to sink into protection to get this roulette-wheel of a talent, you could have had useful PvP talents from the ret tree. (7 points, to be precise. Imp HoJ is a must-have if you PvP a lot.
PvE:
-DStorm hits 4 targets at once. Reck does not. DStorm heals your raid. Reck...Doesn't.
-Reck relies on you taking damage. If you're DPSing and taking anything but occasional AoE damage, you belong in group 6.
-How many useful PvE talents did you miss by getting Reckoning? (you wasted 14 points if you were planning to spec Kings, and 20 points if you only wanted Divine Strength.)
Summary:
Blizzard adds a ton of good talents in the ret tree to help you in PvP, and group utility that finally gives every raid a good reason to bring a ret pally, and some of you are still convinced that reckoning is a good idea...
(If this offends you, do a search. This bad idea has been discussed to death on this forum more times than I can count. I'm not even going to give examples of all the possible ways you'll gimp your talents by building around reckoning, because I've done it all before.)
