Haven't seen any discussion on deep resto builds as of yet and was curious on other healers perseptions of the new shaman talents. Right now I'm leaning towards

http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=51566 - the 30% casting speed buff looks fun, but really I love this for the 25% healing power buff, it may actually earn LHW a place back on my action bars.(still won't be mana effiecient, but closer at ~68%)

Placed on yourself in LK, I see Rogues crying in anguish when Earth shield goes up. They'll still have no trouble stun locking us, but it's going to be 10+ minutes before we die...
Look forward to any feedback, especially for anyone who has gotten into beta testing.

I think you misunderstand Spirit Link. If you spread out the damage over 3 people, it makes Chain Heal your main spell. No longer will you be casting it and it just hits 1 person.
Also, if you see the direction restoration shamans are being pushed, they're wanting us to work crit into our builds. It was already on the pvp gear, now healers are going to be sharing drops with caster DPS since spellpower is spellpower now. No healing gear, no dps gear, it's both. I think it would be a good idea to take improved water shield. If, after itemizing in LK, and we're at level 80 with 25% crit rate for heals (which won't be hard to attain), Every 4 heals you cast will crit and give you 200 mana back (more if they give us a new rank of water shield, which hasn't been announced yet).

I under stood that it divides the damage out over 3 people. I don't like it as it breaks the link and does nothing if it's for more than 30% of their health and doesn't really seem to spread enough damage before breaking - making only useful in aoe situations that don't deal a lot of damage. Any use on the MT would be a pretty much certain instant break. How often is that really useful?
Improved Water shield with 25% spell crit looks like 23.5 mp5.
Assumes 24 Healing Waves a minute, and 3/3 improved elemental shields for 235 mana per WS orb.
Decent, but that's optimal without any lag or having to refresh your WS, actual is probably more like 17 mp5 for 3 talent points. Not sure that's worth it unless we get another rank of WS.
