They won't be worthless, you'll still be able to buy the current BoJ items. But the current BoJs certainly won't be used to buy Northrend equipment. There will likely be a new badge-type item introduced for new gear.

Any updates on this ?
Blizzard has already indicated that a two-tier badge system will be implemented for Wrath: Heroics and 10-man raids will have one set of badges and gear, 25-man raids will have a different set.
Current badges and loot will remain, but current badges will not be used to buy level 80 gear.

Actually, it is four-tiered.
Heroics and Tier 7 10-mans (A)
Tier 7 25-mans and Tier 8 10-mans (B)
Tier 8 25-mans and Tier 9 10-mans (C)
Tier 9 25-mans. (D)
8 A = 4 B = 2 C = 1 D. Therefore, if Naxxramas is Tier 7, one clear of Naxxramas in 10-man mode will get you at least three Tier 9 badges, so in 35 Naxxramas runs, you could buy Arthas-quality epics. And we thought Kara badge runs were bad.

I doubt blizz would allow players to farm the lowest level raid to get the highest level items that quickly and easily. But if they did, it would only take t6 guys a few weeks to get to t9 and pwn on that pvp lake. Seems to be something that players want but would be bad for progression etc.

if it's true well to be honest this...sucks.
Well you have to look at it realistically. Come level 80 it will probably be possible to duo a Heroic instance with ease (some classes might be able to solo them), I don't think it makes since for some of the best items in the game rewarded to people who are simply redoing trivialized content?
So if you have any spare badges of justice, spend them on Nethers or Vortexes to sell on the AH.

Quickly and Easily? If what the poster you are replying to is correct, it will take 35 weeks of running the lowest level raids to get ONE piece of highest level raid gear. That's more than half of a year to get ONE piece of loot!

well to be honest i was talking about the badge tradeoff. To talk with tbc terms imagine a sunwell item equivalent being available for 150badges of justice(tier 4 badges).if one badge of tier 4=8 badges of tier 1 you would need 1200badges for just one piece.Assuming a raid has 8bosses you would need 150 10-man raids(around 3 more times for heroics) to buy ONE T9 PIECE.that's total ffs imho.
Come on. It's just stupid that people can get tier 6 quality loot with badges from Karazhan, I'm glad they seem to be fixing that now.

Not to be a doubter, but do you have a link to the blue post for this? This is the kind of thing that requires a link or citation to the original source or else I can't take it seriously.
I've run across
speculation
that T7 tokens might be tradable for T9 tokens, but I haven't read any
confirmation
. Allowing Kara badges to buy T6 gear was to soften the gear reset once WotLK hits -- but once WotLK does hit, there is no reason for a system that allows rampant gear homogenization. In fact, Blizz likes a certain level of gear differentiation -- just look a the arena rating requirements for PvP gear. No reason to think they don't want something similar in place for PvE gear.
