My friend has access to both, and was wondering which is better. The spreadsheet we use doesn't take that proc into account.
Here are the weapons, for comparison:

Well, the simplest way to find an answer is to actually model the proc and plug it to the spreadsheet. There's no workaround to get correct answer :)
But here's some simple math (you will notice it's lacking, but should be a good approximation). Assuming Fists of Fury 5% proc chance per white attack or SS (main special attack) and a standard 20/41 combat build. No OH misses, only SnD haste. Proc chance is taken from a comment on wowhead,
here. I'm also using stat weights proposed by wowhead for combat build.
Energy per second: 14.3
Haste: 1.3
SS per second: 1 / (40 / 14.333) = 0.358
Molten Fury proc chance: 5%
Proc avg damage: (100 + 150) /2 = 125
AP to DPS coefficient = 1/14 (to estimate dps from stats)
Molten Fury weaponsDps: 100.2 + 75.225 = 175.425 (OH reduced to 0.75)
Dps gain from stats (agi and ap): 11.5
Attacks per second: 0.358 + 0.481 + 0.867 = 1.706 (SS and both hands white hits)
Proc dps: 1.706 * 0.05 * 125 = 10.67
Total dps: 175.425 + 11.5 + 10.67 =
197.6Vanir's weaponsDps: 103.0 + 77.25 = 180.25
Dps gain from stats (haste, hit and ap): 16.14
Total dps: 180.25 + 16.14 =
196.4Both weapons in terms of simple dps are very similar, the difference is too small to be noticed. There is however one thing - take a good look at average damage of MH weapons:
Molten Fury: (216 + 325) / 2 = 270.5
Vanir's: (180 + 335) / 2 = 257.5 (approx. 5% less damage)
The average damage obviously has an impact on SS dps, but I can't tell you how big, as I don't know what AP you have. Generally speaking, this difference will be less significant as your AP increases (i.e. weapon avg dmg < your attack power multiplied by 2.4/14).
Overall, I think I'd stick with Molten Fury fists. They look better than Vanir's imo ;) and are at least equally good, at least in my book (and according to my math above, I hope it's correct).
