At first I wanted to get into beta and start testing Wrath and was excited that it was opening up etc, but now I'm glad I didn't get a key cuz what's the point?
From what I've heard read and seen, you dont get to keep any progression you get, any characters you make, any gears or items, you dont get special gears etc for having helped them, just the experience of going through it first i guess. Even that kinda makes it worse though, you got to go through everything first, yay, now go through it again now that you just finished it so it will count.
Prove me wrong, I'd like to hear what motivates others to want to do beta or how those who are doing beta feel about the prospect of doing it all over again.

I never meant to imply that beta wouldnt be fun, hell, it better be fun or else this expansion will prolly suck eggs.
What i meant to say is that, given you will be putting time into beta, what will you get out of it? Big Mike has his valid point of helping blizz out which in turn helps all of the player community, but im not assuming that im the only tester out there and that if i dont play, blizz will fail. I assume there are enough people out there to help and make this a better gaming experience, but am wondering if the time invested proves valuable and worth it to the player when the expansion comes out and all of their efforts gaining levels, rep, skill points etc are washed away.
I am a player who measures time invested vs reward, with fun being a primary guide for measurement. If the new area is so fun that i dont mind going through it 4 times (assuming you test with a current 70 you have and then with the dk) then cool, bring it beta. But outlands wasnt the most interesting the 2nd time or 3rd time around. Maybe thats my own problem, and i thought of that, which is why i posed the question onto others.
It's obvious to me that foki, you either lust after one real bad and find it outrageous that i would question the experience or you have a key and havent been happier; either way i appreciate ur input. Im sure nefarion and i are both anxious for demon form on our locks, I want it to remain un-nerfed and fully op, but all in time.
I wouldnt mind selling it either, money is money.

Selling a key you got from opt in is just plain stupid, think of others for gods sake. :/

The reason why i'm playing wotlk beta is so can help mold wow into an even more enjoyable game, and in hope of sharing data with wowhead here so people who DONT know the quests can come here and go "Oh! so thats where he's hiding!".
Some people like helping more than others, unlike yourself it seems you're all about personal progression than the bigger picture.
