You mentioned that it the wowhead logo can be covered up sometimes depending on resolution. Either way, this suggestion is a better option because it assumes the user knows that the wrath of the lich king image should obviously do something different then clicking on wowhead, and it makes sure that clicking on 1 thing does what it's supposed to (the square link kinda botches that idea).
<img src="
http://static.wowhead.com/images/corner_wotlk.gif?3" alt="Wowheads, WOTLK Site!" border="0" usemap="#wotlk">
<map name="wotlk" id="wotlkmap">
<area shape="poly" coords="0,0,0,90,90,0" href="
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/" />
</map>
This simply creates a "triangle" link making it the link that it obviously should be (pixels lining up perfect with the triangle instead of being forced to use a square). This is all kinda dumb but it's an easy thing to do and imo "should" be done this way, (the way it was suggested)!
Just put the code section in your header file where this is:
<div id="corner-wotlk"><a href="
http://wotlk.wowhead.com"></a></div>Probably right after the <div id="corner-wotlk"> ****** <----- here
You'll probably have to clean out some of the css on that ID also and I've never done an image map in css but it might be possible that way too, but as far as I know "map" elements have become pretty common across all browsers and so I don't think compatibility will be an issue for this particular thing. If anything, you're making it better.
