First of all, kudos on the site. It is remarkably well kept, and the only site I go to for any type of World of Warcraft information (barring incredibly, incredibly specific info). It's just as much a part of the World of Warcraft experience as anything else.
Now, I saw that you have "Side-by-side" item comparisons in the pipeline, and that it's a top priority. Good show. That would probably be very helpful to a lot of people.
And as far as my actual suggestion...while I was compiling a list of items, I took out a pen and pad of paper and started to write things down. I had planned on doing some work in PVP (haha, funny how I say "work" when I mean "wholescale slaughter"), and was trying to figure out what would maximize my output. As I was doing this, I started thinking it would be incredibly helpful for me to have had a way to check to see what my actual stats would have been with the equipment I was looking at.
In short, something like a "shopping list". Not for my character specifically, but for the items I was looking at. It would be nice to have something calculate for me, for example, just how much stamina I'm getting from using an
Emblazoned Hat instead of a
Tribal Worg Helm. Yes, it's easy with one item, but when you start going over full gear regiments, as well as enchantments? Well, this pad of paper is getting a little messy.
What I'm thinking of is something like what you have with item sets, but on a smaller level. The
Chain of the Scarlet Crusade is a good example. You have a little table that has the total armor, strength, and stamina. And while I realize that's a static example, I would like to see something like that.
I'll be the first to admit that I don't know a lot about coding. So, I don't know if what I'm asking for is a huge thing, or not. But I think it would be just swell if you could have something like that. A...gear calculator, as it were. The basic stats, the spell stats, the ranged stats, the defense stats...the whole shebang. And as long as we're at it? Have a way to include enchantments, both the "LF Enchanter for Mongoose, PST" and the "LF Leatherworker for Nethercleft Leg Armor!" kind.
It would just be immensely helpful. Right now, I'm just going back and forth from the paper to a calculator, trying to do the math. It's not that it's hard, it's just kind of time-consuming, and I'd rather not make a mistake. "PVP is serious business", or so the saying goes.
I did flip through the FAQ and a few of the suggestions in this thread, and I didn't see one that specifically matched what I'm asking for. Do forgive me if it turns out that this has already been discussed at length, and it can't be done. Still...optimism, and all.
Just a thought.

I did see that under the Under Development tab, I just wasn't sure if it was specifically what I was getting at. My fault, really. I'm not always up to date on the lingo.
For example, It took me some time before I learned that "ftw" meant "for the win". I just thought that a lot of people playing this game were a lot rougher than you'd expect.
More on track, yes. If that's what the actual term is, then I'll all for it.
Huzzah.
