Help! I am getting bored.

I was finally able to get up the courage to play a paladin. I had heard that they were slow and/or boring. But people who had higher level paladin's said it was worth it.
So I made one. I got one to level 42. It is a prot paladin but I am getting bored. Not with the game but paladin itself. I think it's just that fighting really isn't very interesting and, even though I am nigh unkillable, it's almost as boring as hunter. (I've never been able to get a hunter past 35 because pointing and shooting bores me to tears.)
The thing is, I don't want to quit prematurely. I have a 70 lock and a 70 druid and I enjoyed leveling them, espescially the druid. It is a fun class to play.
What can/should I do to make paladin more appealing? I am doing the quests but they're the same old quests.

Something else you might think about: If you've got any friends or guild mates in game with lower-level toons (say, around 15-25) you can fairly easily as a prot Paladin run them through instances for gear. Deadmines, Wailing Caverns, Stockades, RFC (you could probably herd that entire instance if you had a dedicated healer) - I personally find herding up an entire dungeon and Consecrating it all down at once rewarding. :)

Personally, the hardest part of being a paladin was getting up to 35/40 so I could respec Prot and get Reckoning and later Holy Shield
after that, however, I was pretty much always having fun. Grabbing a huge group of mobs and taking them all out is immensely more entertaining than the typical way. This is coming from a guy who even leveled a warlock to 70.
