PvE Death Knight Disease DPS Build
I was wondering if this build was any good, I want it to hopefully get the maximum damage out of diseases as a form of DPS in raids/instances.
What is the Build?
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?talent=jf0hZG0x0bZfMMIx0ogzq0fzut
Why didn't you pick X?
I didn't pick talents like Bone Shield as I wouldn't class this build as a tanking build, only a DPS build so with plate already being worn I don't think id need an extra shield. I also didn't go for gargoyle, as i don't know whether it'd be a good summon, if it'd de-summon the ghouls id have etcetera, also it deals only nature damage, thus it seems that any boss with high/full nature resistance, this summon would be a waste of talents.
Why did you pick X?
Blood Strikes, Annihilation, Unholy Blight, Scourge Strikes and Master of the Ghouls were all selected to increase disease effectiveness. They all give benefits as they all add a disease effect to the target, thus increase damage, and effectiveness of Wandering Plague, with should help with groups of trash mobs and/or boss adds, that is also the reason why I only put 1 point into Wandering Plague, as 10% is enough when you have many diseases.
Why Disease?
It seemed most beneficial for PvE combat. Also I saw lots of people were going deep into Blood and/or Frost for PvP builds, yet I saw near no disease builds. I also had thought there were some good talents in there.
Why Imp. Icy Touch and not Toughness?
The Imp. Icy Touch is quite beneficial as the increased damage, 3%+ reduced; casting speed, movement speed and attack speed would be a great benefit to the entire group rather than a few measly 9%+ armor, which only benefits me.
Thank you for reading.
If have any more questions feel free to ask them. Also feel free to criticise and add your own view to this build.
Note: This build will change when the WotLK Beta Talents change.

If you´re going for a disease build, you definetly need blood cake.

Diseases will be a decent part of unholy's damage output, but not the majority. Right now we only have two diseases which deal damage (blood plague from plague/scourge strike, and frostfever from icy touch) and neither one of them does even as much damage as a warlock's base corruption or Curse of agony.
Your diseases are there as supplementary damage, and to provide a damage (or healing) bonus to other skills - such as blood strike, heart strike, obliterate, and death strike.

Not really, hysteria is a targetable deathwish. It's useful for either the blood DK or a raid member (and works for casters too!), but I dont think it has any real weight in whether or not you get invited to the raid. Overall, it's a minimal damage improvement to a raid group.
If you have a 25 man raid, and 10 of those are DPS classes, using hysteria on one of them gives the raid overall something like a 2% damage increase for the short duration.

Threat is being tweaked in WOTLK, it will be easier for tanks to keep threat because they're getting more stats which improve threat generation.
Now, assuming threat isnt a problem, you'd be much better off putting hysteria on a rogue for a boss fight. As you said, 1 or 2 HoTs can keep that rogue alive (especially since he's not taking any outside damage, in all likelihood) and rogues are the top single-target damage dealers (and will remain so in wotlk).

Lich king server, alliance side. I'm wishing I had rolled on another server though... I'm not used to pvp servers (wasnt paying attention when I created my character). Lich king is heavily dominated by the horde population, and there are far too many 70+ gankers runnin around hellfire/zangar/nagrand in season 4 gear killin death knights -_-
I don't see how this is a DPS build. You are nerfing your diseases by skipping Epidemic, Virulence, and Outbreak while not maxxing Impurity. Your diseases have less AP behind them, are short 2 full tics, and miss more often.
You're right on epidemic, that's a big deal. Impurity really isnt, because of how it increases the APC of your abilities. I've had to list this example before:
Icy touch gets 12.5% of your attack power. With 5/5 impurity, it gets 15.625% of your attack power. For the expense of 5 talent points, you've gained 3.125% bonus from attack power on that ability... that's it. You would need just over 3 attack power to get -1- extra point of damage on icy touch with 5/5 impurity.
The talent looks great at first, but it doesnt help as much as you'd think. I'm planning on skipping it entirely for a level 80 build unless something changes with how it adds, since almost all of our abilities have exceptionally low coefficients.
You're also spending 6 points on Magic Supression and Anti-magic zone, which is fine if you are tanking casters but doesn't improve your dps.
There's a point at which you have to stop thinking about personal capability and start thinking about what you can do to improve the raid as a whole. Anti-Magic zone is one of the best raid utility talents in the game right now, and entirely worth the investment. The only issue I have with it is that the 10k damage absorb doesnt scale... it's still good, but not as good as it could be.
AMZ isnt taken to help you tank casters, it's taken to help raid members survive magic-damage encounters.
On a Pale Horse is a skill of convenience to me. Mounted speed increase doesn't help get the mobs down, and reducing a 5 second fear to 4 sec isn't worth 2 talent points.
Again, there are some things that are just worth losing dps over. On a pale horse is one of them - it is a huge reduction in the time it takes you to gather tradeskill materials if you're a miner/herbalist, and it's one of our most powerful pvp talents at the moment.
