Either one is fine. FG can be a bit more versatile when it comes to soloing tough single targets, etc. while Affliction is better for grinding multiple mobs in an area.

I personally love the FG build but I would recommend waiting till about 54 or 56. This will allow you to truly fill out the
demo tree
and get intercept at 52 and demonic frenzy at 56
Just remember how much better your Succubus at level 26(Seduction). Basically they aren't awesome out of the box, they need to get 1or 2 of their core abilities 1st.
Also you may try it for a awhile and decide that you just don't like the way it plays. 1st thing to get used to is not getting hit anymore :)

affliction all the way man, more fun and faster then demo leveling...
with demo the circle of mana -> damage -> health -> mana is either less efficient of even not present depending on your playstyle...
i found you have to heal the FG so much... and you don't get much health back unless you're draining life... so eventually you'll have to sit and eat/drink...
perhaps maybe in WotLK demo might be an option for me bcs siphon life or dark pact could be used depending on how deep i'd go in demo...

I don't like this hunter style leveling which FG offers me where pet holds agro and I just nuke him then proceed to the next mob. It may be quick but it is vacuum for your skill improvement of playing warlock.
Take taunt off auto-cast and trade aggro with the pet. Then use Drain Life to regain the health. Fel Guard is a great drain-tanking build. You don't have to keep aggro on your pet all the time.
Also consider taking instant Corruption after you get your FG. It makes pulls go that much faster.
Fel Guard may
allow
for lazy play but it doesn't require it. With skill you can get out of pretty much any sticky situation. No multi-pulls should really be a problem (within reason.)
