Agreed, there's no simple set of number you can meet that will determine your success in a raid but there are some thing you can pay attention to to help you set stat priorities.
For a group starting to make progress in Karazhan you should expect everyone in the raid to be able to survive at least a 7500 damage hit (unavoidable raid wide damage from Shade's pyroblast for example) otherwise you're dead and dealing 0 dps.
If you are below the hit cap for special attacks and can gain a 1% higher hit chance by giving up less than 1% of your current damage then you should make that trade as you will deal more damage overall that way. Once you are above the hit cap for special attacks hit is still important but a 1% increase in hit will probably yield less than a 1% increase in damage. Keep in mind that this is just a guess though, you can't exactly predict how much you missed attacks will cost you and the best way to be sure is to test it in game if you can.

63 is an arbitrary number and should not be used to gear your rogue
the only important stats is your DPS
no ofence Lucsoke, :)
but in fact, i'm totaly ok with your post
but realy, a lot of good rogue gear have hit rating on it. If you get lower than 63 hit rating, it's probably because you are in green and should avoid doing kara with pugs.
But right now. There is so much ppl very well geared running kara that it's possible to do it with less than 10 person easily.
so if you bring an undergeared player, it will not be a big problem if he is skilled and know the instance. So he'll not be lost asking for a summon or help to reach the raid...

if you gem all these slot with +8 hit for yellow and +4agi+4hit for red you will get with both sword:
12 agi
131 hit rating
204 AP
103 crit rating
both weapon will give you the stam you need to reach 7500 HP and a realy good DPS.

Why would you give up 1% of your overall damage for 1% less missing? That's foolish unless the 1% increase in HR is greater DPS overall.
That is exactly what I said. If you have a chance to miss with all of your attacks then reducing that miss chance by 1% will allow you to deal around 1% more damage on average. Once your special attacks are hit capped then higher hit only applies to your auto attacks so the benefit you get from it depends on what percentage of your damage your auto attacks deal (or rather could deal if they hit more often) and how much you rely on poisons or weapon procs from those attacks.

I understand what you are saying and you're correct; 1% +hit is probably more than 1% more damage below the hit cap. If we knew exactly what gear choices we were considering then plugging them into a spread sheet would be an option. Unfortunately since Agereautmore here isn't yet 70 and probably does not know exactly what gear choice they will have I don't think that's possible and I think that my suggestion is a good enough general rule in such a case.
