Well... I'm sure that everybody are studying the new talents for the upcoming expansion, and after the talent modification Priests and Pallys are getting huge buffs to their healing spells...
The question is simple: Which class will be better 5man healer ?
Actually I'm playing a Holy Priest and leveling a Pally, so I don't know If I continue Holy Priest and make Prot Pally, or retalent to Shadow Priest and make Holly Pally to be an ultra-fast-mana-conservative healer...

It seems that all the healing classes will be equally efficient 5-man healers, even druids, with the upcoming changes in the expansion.
This.
Personally I see it as all the healing classes are now equipped with similar spells. Single target heals, AOE heals, Damage reduction, Resurrection, Buffs, etc etc
It's all about which class you prefer to play as a healer, at least that's my take on it, and that's how it should be. =)

Thanks a lot for the quick responses... but, purely and numeric, I'm thinking in other ways...
I'll explain you: In the expansion one of the major changes is the spell cost; actually, with the BC system, 90% of the spells have fixed mana cost, and in WotLK the spells costs will be a % of the base mana, this means that the spells costs raise with your mana pool. With this system, you need a strong mana conservation implemented in the new talents for Priest, but "yet" implemented in Pallys : Mana refund.
Looking at this system, the Pally talent
Illumination
seems to be more efective than Priest version
Serendipity
for mana conservation, and we all know that Priests spells costs much more mana than Pally equivalents.
The way I play holy isn't only big heals in short time periods, also I need to have an efficient mana pool to support long boss encounter (and, of course, I know the 5sec rule). At this point, Priests continues to have a weak point in BC that WotLK don't finish to solve.

Which if it is anything like health is looking to become will be 20 to 30k 500 or even 1000 when you have 20-30k isn;t much. That is 30 heals you can use without any mana recovery which you will be seeing and you should see around 200mp5 at least on anything at 80 that heals. you shouldn't have an issue with mana runing out.
Edit: after looking my shammy mostly t4, 1piece t5 has 326 mp5. I never run out when casting chain heal
or in other words pally has 2953 all holy lights cost 856.37 mana including the new rank 13
http://wotlk.wowhead.com/?spell=48782
where the old rank 11 used 840
http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27136
. So a increase in healing from 2196-2446 to 4888-5444 with only a 17 mana increase. seeing this you can say at a 30k mana pool you can get off 35 casts without regen with regen at 80 you should be able to using constant holy lights get 40+ by the time your mana runs out.
This is all theretical at being 30k mana seeing as 28k health is easy unbuffed or so I have heard.
Edit again: My mistake it says at 70 pally mana is 2953 but you see what I am saying.
