... is so you can hit all those damn 70s who fly around and tank you in HFP while you're still in your low 60s. Amazingly, lots of them seem to be absolutely shocked when a 62 warlock successfully feardots them to death. I just think it's pathetic.
Granted, this does nothing against geared, intelligent 70s, but those seem to be maybe 10% of the level 70 population.
It also helps you hit orange/red mobs with your spells while leveling, which can be a lifesaver if a wandering mob happens by or otherwise adds.

For now it works for me. I already have committed to respeccing when I hit 70.
Last I checked, the chance to hit an orange mob is -16% for spells, or worse, correct? Well since there's basically no spellhit on gear pre-70, Suppression gives me the only spellhit I'm going to get before then. Besides, I already have every core talent for the UA/Shadowburn build.
And really, maybe it's just Ner'Zhul (US) Alliance, but the 70s who try to gank me are NOOBISH. I'm talking Paladins who let me knock them down to 10%, bubble, laugh at me, and then get chainfeared to death after bubble wears off. The Suppression helps me succeed in doing that.
Or if you prefer I could spend those points on a whopping 6 yards (meaningless while leveling as well) or a bit more stamina (a few hundred health). Hitting gankers more often > either of those.

Depends on your server and how much you hit the highly trafficked areas. Hillsbrad and Stranglethorn are, of course, infamous. Tanaris can be messy in the pirate cove.
As someone who made an alliance character on Haomarush during the Total War days, I personally like a little excitement in my leveling. But even then you'd rarely get ganked more than once every couple of levels - and camping was very unusual.

In 3 toons levelled past STV, i've never been ganked more than 4-5 times there. With my first when i went there without knowing how it was, and i've quickly turned back and found other places to level.
Ganking is not something unavoidable, there are a lots of things you can do to be out of sight of the gankers.

Yes, but I'm in HFP, where the gankers can fly around and drop in on me at a moment's notice.
And I dunno, maybe it's just Ner'Zhul on the horde side, but I get ganked - by a 70 - about once an hour, and camped by a 70 about every other time I get ganked. Suppression gives me a chance to kill the stupid ones.
