Macro question

I have recently been trying to sort out my macros as I have seen how useful they can be in a variety of different settings.
I have one relatively simple question that I can't find the answer to anywhere else (and believe me I've looked!).
I see a lot of macros beginning with " #showtooltip" yet when I start my macro's with this it doesn't show the tooltip.
So should this be the name of the macro, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong?
Is there another way to show the tooltip instead of the macro name when i mouse over the button?
Thanks in advance for the help :D

The #showtooltip macro needs to be in the body of the macro, not the title.
For example, one of my macros called FW Rotation:
#showtooltip Fear Ward
/5 **Fear Ward used, next**
/w **Your Fear Ward next**
/cast Fear Ward
I have been putting the "#showtooltip" in the body of the macro but it hasn't shown the tooltip.
Should it have the name of the required tooltip after? I tried that with
#showtooltip Shadowfiend
/cast Shadowfiend
/s Bring out The Gimp
but it didn't show the Shadowfiend tooltip.
I notice that Shadowfiend is a ranked spell, do I need to include the rank?

Cheers, I'll give it a whirl next time I log in to WoW.
If there are still problems I guess I'll just have to live without the tooltips :S

I actually did that in my example, as that was the only one that I really wanted a tooltip for. I have since found out on the Macro & UI forum that it is mainly to do with the icon you select for the macro.
You have to select the one with the red "?" to make the tooltip function work.
It now works perfectly. Thanks for your help Primar.
