Great, a new excuse for DPS Casters to take our loot as a healer... I respected the whole split healing and spell damage drops... it was easier on casters, and healers... Now just wow =
It works both ways - healers can take what used to be DPS caster drops too. That means there will be more items to roll on, and less drops will be useless and get disenchanted. Generally a good improvement.

Yes, In TBC theres alot more to roll on, but in Wotlk we cant say that there will still be just as many drops
For example, Before there could be 2 different maces off a boss, one healing one damage, Now on a boss there could be only one mace off a boss, and it will be argued over between healing and dps
Less loot for blizzard to need to design and think of

No, you got it all backwards. In WotLK there will be a far greater selection of items to choose from for both offensive casters and healers. Where there used to be one mace that was for casters and one that was for healers, there will now be two maces that are useful for both; or there will only be one mace that is useful for both, but with twice as high drop rate.

You need to consider that with less items, each item will drop more often since a boss will still have the same number of items lootable. So where one caster and one healing items would normally drop 2 spell-power items will drop.

The good thing about this is that it makes items have less chance to be useless drops, because no one wants to use them, or can't use them.

I think spell power is a good move. Yes, there will be more people rolling on a single item, but I think it will force people to think more about what kind of stats specifically help them in achieving their potential as a class, instead of grabbing something simply because it's got higher numbers on it.
