Question about Iceblock

I have recently reached 30 and am curious about how people use Iceblock in PvP. Mainly about how long you normally stay frozen before removing the effect. Does anyone have some good tips or tricks they use in the battlegrounds?
Also, is there a way of dismissing the effect other than right clicking on the icon e.g. some macro command. I had a quick look in the FAQ but didn't find this sort of topic.
Thanks for any help you can give =]

For some reason, Ice Block is a huge attention-getter. When I'm getting focusfired and roflstomped, I Block. I've had up to 6 Alliance pounding on the outside of my pretty shell while my teammates grab the flag and run. Now THAT'S mage power!

I mostly use Ice Block to remove the bad status effects; however, it also helps me wait out a few cooldowns, like blink, frostnova, and such, while I'm getting wailed on by a rogue or war. As stated before, it really depends on what situation you're in. As you PvP you'll get a feel for how to use it.

Its the same thing with a Pala's bubble :)
And the screwed minds also show in AV, as if a Warlock SoCs (Living Bomb should do the same) someone, they will invariably run into the biggest group of people they can find.
