Run recount and if anyone starts bitching put a report in /p on who has broken CC.
That usually shuts people up.
EDIT:
Improved Thunderclap is better than Cruelty by a long shot.

A quick side note...if somebody in the group is criticizing your gear from the start...leave. The inevitable is going to happen anyway. Spare yourself a wasted session. These crybabies just want a walk through and nothing else. Your shammy friend obviously has no idea how to work with a tank. Sounds like someone used to always having a level 70 tank around making his job a piece of cake.

Before we started a shaman was telling me I dont have tanking gear and he knows we're gonna suck
I was able to hold agro for the most part that shammy kept chain lightning the mobs before I could get to them and kept grabbing agro (and kept hitting the saped target) so I let him die once to make a point and of course he got mad whatever though.
Yes, that shaman was a jerk. Someone who rags on your gear and says that things are going to suck before you've set foot in the instance is just consigning themselves to a bad experience, and trying to drag everyone down with them.
I have no problems with letting someone die to prove a point like you did, but if you'll allow me to offer a suggestion? Let them know beforehand that if they keep doing that you're going to let them die. That way, they don't think "Oh, you're a crappy tank, you couldn't pull them off of me." I've done this as both a tank and as a healer. In this way, both the jerk (usually a DPS class that doesn't understand that sometimes you need to cool it) and the rest of the group know immediately that this was not a result of you not doing your job. This is something you're doing to keep the group alive. To be fair, you should warn them first. After the first chain lightning, you can say "Hey...can you stop just using chain lightning like that, before I have a chance to get aggro?". The second, "Seriously...you're making it harder on me and the group. Don't do that until after I __________ (thunderclap, devastate, whatever". And the final one, "If you do that again, I'm going to let you die while I protect the group. I'm not going to let us wipe because you won't control your threat."
I have a druid friend...when she's tanking and someone starst off a fight with Pyroblast or Searing Pain, or something like that, she just faces them and sits until they die.
Which I understand. You're a tank. You don't have to take that from no chump DPS. In a group role for an instance, it's more important for you to stay alive than it is for him. Just keep that in mind when you're getting flak from DPS classes.
DPS: wtf, that's not tanking gear? You suck hard.
Tank: Do you want to tank?
DPS: no, nub, DPS can't--
Tank: Then maybe you should shut up.

If DPS pulls, they automatically get an "Idiot" tag. Hunter Misdirection is obviously the only exception to this.
...
...I was just in a Zul'Farrak group with a priest who wanted to pull using Mind Blast.
Now, I am a full protection specced warrior.
...
...do you know how hard it is to get aggro when a priest uses mind blast to pull while you're going over tactics with the rest of the group?
The only thing that was harder than that?
When this idiot shadow priest kept using Mind Control.
*Sigh*
Well, that certainly angried up the blood.

Thunderclap, demo shout, devistate x3 on skull
thunderclap
devistate x2 on X
thunderclap
devistate x2 on O
i would not bother with the demo shout unless you really need the mitigation. it eats a global cooldown and produces very little threat.
other than that, keeping TC on cooldown is priority #1. if you want to get to mob #3 faster, try opening with either a single SS on the skull or a devastate + heroic strike. either option only takes one GCD.
if you can maintain the rage...
TC then SS on skull (2 GCD)
devastate on X (1 GCD)
devastate on O (1 GCD)
TC (1 GCD)
back to skull
with improved TC, you might find the tab/devastate unnecessary and let TC hold them by itself.

I'm fortunate enough that I rarely have to go outside of my guild to find groups but the key for me is communication. I will say do NOT start dps on skull (first kill) until sunder is up. Then I will pull, thunderclap and use devastate on everything BUT skull, coming to that one last.
