I have heard Resto Druid.
What is your reccomendation, and then what is the strategy?

Resto druid, the druid has to be very good at kiting.
Resto shaman, you get WF and heroism.
Holy paladin (41/20), self-explanatory.
Shockadin (40/0/21), nice burst damage, good healing as needed, will allow you to take down targets faster than 41/20 paladin, but easier to CC.
Holy / disc priest (28 / 33 I believe), blessed resilience takes forever to eat through, the priest will stay up long enough for you to kill 1 target and then will stay up for another 15 seconds with the spirit.
There are other fun combinations, but those above are possibly the cheesiest, the most annoying and the most popular combinations.
Each combination has its positive and negative aspects and counter combinations. However, it's possible to get a very high rating if you both stay on top of your game.
Also, if you are just starting arenas or are simply not aware of these, you should check out warrior spell reflect and intervene macros. They are easy to write and you can customize them to your taste or create new ones.
On another note, I think ret paladin + warrior >could< potentially work; I've heard of a 2v2 2000+ rated dual-warrior team (most would think it's doomed) and from getting to 1800 in one day as 2 warriors I believe that, so it could be interesting to see how retadin + warrior would perform (assuming they have the gear for it) considering the buffs in 2.3.

Any class capable of healing... a skilled Discipline speced Priest is a bitch and half to kill, so don't worry about their squishiness.

I run two 2vs2s:
Priest is poorly equipped, blessed resilience / pvp spec.
Paladin is epic geared, holy spec.
Warrior1 is poorly geared MS spec.
Warrior2 is epic geared fury spec.
Priest runs with Warrior2.
Paladin runs with Warrior1.
We maintain ~1500 despite one of us being the weak link. The paladin just *won't* die, giving warrior1 time to dps. The priest takes quite a beating and adds great utility (mana burn, fear etc) for warrior2, and finishes the arena in Spirit of Redemption form.
Resto Shaman can be quite fearsome,. especially with Purge. Resto Druids are just annoying - no real utility, just strong heals and travelform. tbh, I worry most when I see a resto shaman or paladin.
