So, let me get this straight...
Your a good PvPer. Your partner tought you were a good PvPer. Until he found out you clicked, you both PvPd tegether well. Then, because he found out you clicked, you suddenly sucked at everything you did.
Looks to me like the problem is with the people telling you to stop clicking.

Start off slow, move your most often used spell to the 2 spot on your action bar and get yourself used to moving your finger up one to hit it every time, then put your next most frequent in either 1 or 3. If you use straffe alot you'll want to keep q and e as they are, if you dont then you'll need to get into that keybind menu and set them as you want them, just keep slowly adding in one new spell on keybind at a time. Once you start getting in the hang of it clicking will just start to feel odd.
You'll see that 'you cant be good if you click' motto around but it isnt always true in my opinion, it depends alot on the class you play and you're playstyle.
You may find yourself most comfortable with a combo of keys and clicks and thats fine too. There are some things on some of my toons that I dont think I'll ever change to a keybind but always just click, mostly situational spells/items that I would never remember what I had it bound to on those occaisions I need it but that I do need frequently enough to merit a bar spot.
A few more things to take note of:
Do you use the blizz standard ui/actionbar? As you move further into keybindings a non-standard actionbar setup often becomes better since finding what bar something is on is less cryptic and they can be hidden or hidden-til-mouseover.
Do you use a 2-3-4 button mouse? I personally <3 my 5 button mouse as the side button is my #1 fav 'keybind' key. It's great for your opening move/pull move bind or for something you frequently need to do on the fly.
Hope this helps :)

Hey here's probably my favorite trick I've gotten in the last few years.
For a little background, I havn't been a clicker in years; it slows you down, but the upside is all your spells are visually right in front of you so you can sometimes remember to use them when you'd normally forget.
So here's my suggestion;
-------------------------------------------------------------
You *SHOULD* be using your mouse to look around correct? Mouse 1 + 2 to run, and maybe mouse 3 to autorun? Mine is that and the Z button; but that's unimportant.
By default wow has A and D bound to look left and right, and Q and E bound to strafe left and right. Rebind A and D to like action bar 6, slots 0 and -, drop some COMMONLY used skills in there, ex. Shield Slam, or Prayer of Mending, or Ice Lance or even a macro, but preferably ones not on cooldowns (or if you have a cooldowns mod, go ahead). Now you use your mouse to look around, and all movement is mouse look/stafing based. Trust me; you'll get used to it fast.
Basically this gives you access to two more buttons to easily use. Being an effective keyboard user is all about keyboard space economy. My friend uses his 5 mouse buttons on his rogue for all his essential buttons (2 standard, and 3 bound to skills). That way he can maneuver and dps all with one hand, and the other hand worries about different skills and movements.

I am a clicker also. I mainly PvE, and its not quite as big of a deal, but, I would atleast like to get a mouse with multiple buttons to bind the more commonly used skills. My problem is, most of the mouses with several buttons just suck, for one reason or another. For instance, dont put a button that minimizes my screen under my palm so that I can accidentally bump it. *rolleyes*
I think if you can atleast find a mouse with several buttons to start, you will be well on your way. It frees up your left hand to be able to use the bindings more freely.

Bah, stick to clicking.
You could then use clicking as a taunt to any foe you defeat;
"haha noob, you just got beat by a clicker"
I click, have a few keys bound (random situational stuff). What interests me is why it bothers other people so much how I play the
game
, does my clicking hurt their ears?
Although, I probably havent bothered going down the bindings route because I'm a cheap bastard using a £4.99 usb crapboard ^^.
I do have 9 buttons on my mouse! Shame I'm too lazy to set them all up :(

I'm in the camp with the others that have said your partner was silly for leaving simply because you're a clicker. If he/she didn't have any problems with your performance and the only thing that changed was that bit of knowledge, then he/she is an idiot. IMO, of course.
That being said, I've never really been a clicker, nor do I use the keyboard. I've got a Nostromo n52 that I use that has all my spells bound to it; 2 of the buttons on my "function" keys (shift and alt) so that I can hold those down and hit a key on the Nostromo in combo. The only reason I touch my keyboard is for chatting - and that's the way I like it.
The real point is, I guess, that if you're comfortable clicking your spells on the action bar and it isn't screwing with your performance then no one has any room to tell you otherwise.
