Stay away from enchanting if it's your first character. It will literally suck your money dry. Go with herbalism/skinning or mining/skinning and then change to a crafting profession once you hit lvl 40 (this way you'll actually have money XD)

Stay away from enchanting, you will go broke.
This is incorrect, or at least, inaccurate
I have created characters on servers with no other pre-existing characters to prove that I could make more money with enchanting than any other profession.
As soon as you can scrape together 1 gold (or even less, but then the return is slower), you can start buying underpriced greens and selling strange dust at a good profit margin (helped by volume sales). I have a level 16 paladin on Garona named Corannis, that I created just for this purpose, and within 4 days, he had 150 gold, just starting from 1g and selling DE mats.
There's a right way and a wrong way to do enchanting. Going broke is the wrong way. Selling DE mats for profit instead of selling enchants = the right way.
