Hello there!:)
Since twinking is in the wind nowadays (Yes I do it too.. a lot!:>), I keep seeing a LOT of "
is this weapon TBC enchantable?" and "
why not?" post on forums everywhere. So I thought I'd clafiry and try to tell you how to find out, and why an item is TBC-enchantable and why it's not.
First off all:The main problem is that most people make the
completely normal mistake of; not seeing the difference between item level and the level requirement of an item.
What the difference is you say?Let me clarify:
Item level: This is just there to tell you the "quality" of the item. If an item has the
item level 35, and has a
level requirement that is 28, that means the weapon is about equal to a level 35 green item.
So basically, you have an, lets say, level 35 green weapon as level 28 blue one.
(correct me if im wrong, but it wont matter that much, it's not the point here^^:))
Level requirement:This is the number that tells you what level you need to be to equip and use a item. If a item has a level requirement of 38, you have to be level 38 to equip and use the item.
Ok, I got that, what does this have to do with beeing TBC-enchantable or not?!Good question, and here is the answer you are looking for:
The item you want to enchant with a TBC-enchant, has to be level 35. Most of you know that right?? ok, good!
And thus you can
completely look away from
item level. It has
nothing to do with telling if an item is TBC-enchantable or not! If the item is not level 35, you can't enchant it with TBC-items, period!
Um.. how do i get my ubor epix enchant then??! You are not making sense mate!!!I can understand if you are comfused by now:>
Items you can enchant with TBC items at level 29 or lower are:
Quest reward items!
Quick About quests:Quests have two level tags: One; tells you the level you can obtain the quest. Two: Tells you the level you "need" to be, to be able to complete the quest solo.
As you might have noticed, quest rewards don't have level requirements, but on internet sites like for instance; wowhead.com, they just have a tag called "level: 35".
The level tag on quests tells you the level needed to complete the quest solo (or in group for elite/instance quests), and that is what tells you the level of the item you get as a reward from the quest quest!
So, if we take the
Unholy Alliance Quest which has
Skullbreaker(TBC-enchantable) as a reward as a example:
(This is where you click the links, done it? sure? absolutely sure?, ok, then, lets move on!)If you look to the right of the page, in the square called
"Quick facts", on the quest page, (
www.wowhead.com used for this example! not all sites have quick facts, but usually somethign similar with the same info.), you should see the level requirement to accept the quest is level 28, BUT the level of the quest, to be able to complete it normally, is level 36.
This can be confirmed by looking at the "quick facts" box (still on the right side of the page:>), as you should be able to see, the level on Skullbreaker is 36.
And if you read the whole post, you should get my drift by now..
Which is...?....?......?....wtf?
You don't know!??!
Dude.. pay attention!
Ok, here it is:
Since the level needed to complete the quest
normally is level 36, the level of the quest reward is also level 36!
It's
NOT the level requirement of the item, but the level required to complete the quest to get the item, in this case The Skullbreaker.
And since we can pick up this quest at level 29, this is a TBC-enchantable twink item!
So, as a rule of thumb we can say that:
If the item you have is a drop with a level requirement below level 35, ITS NOT TBC-ENCHANTABLE, but, if you have a quest-reward where the level to complete the Quest is 35+, the reward from that quest is level 35+ too, and this IS TBC-ENCHANABLE!And yes, this applys for ALL items, no-matter slot and color (epixx, blue, green, boots, gloves etc..)!There you have it!
Now, head over to wowhead.com or thottbot.com or whatever you prefer, and search for quests that are level 35, but you can start them at level 29 or less! Hire some help for boosts and farm your imba mats for that imba enchant on your imba main! And giggle to yourself, while heading to the battlemaster planning the best way to greet your enemies with a WHACK to the face while spam emoting /kiss! whit a new and shiny(!) TBC-Enchanted weapon.^^
Hope i didnt' waste a lot of time making a mess of a post, and actually helped instead of confused people more!:)
This might just have been a reaaaaaallllyyyyyy long post to explane a simple thing. But i figured it was needed, since we all have different levels of...um.. lets say, "interesst"!:>
Got questions? Ask them here, and I'll reply if I know the answer, if i don't I'll tell you I don't know, and waste your time reading the reply:>
Good luck!
