When you start a Death Knight character you are indeed allied with the scourge. You then are requiered to complete a series of quests at the end of which you are freed from the scourge and join up with the Horde/Alliance (depending on your race), and also free to leave your starting zone in the Eastern Plaguelands.

o ok kool, i knew something was up
although, it would be fun to play as hostile toward EVERYONE except your fellow death knights...i know id love to stroll into Orgrimar and start railing helpless orcs and the like
Undead pride :]
Yea, but you got to admit that an entire faction of only one class probably isn't the greatest idea.

Undead pride :]And then you remember that instances, PvP and raids all require several roles to be present and that you wouldn't be able to group with anyone but other DK's.

Yep i know, but i doubt it'll work any place where dispell i simportant or bosses really start to hit hard. Also the self/group healing capabilities of DK's have been nerfed quite a bit since then (in a 5 man DK perspective, i do prefer the new version for normal instance/raids).
