They might stack in a different way than you presume:
If the target gets healed for 5000hp, after applying MS, this would be reduced to 2500hp. This is then the new amount the healing reduction from furious attacks would affect this, lowering the healing done to 1250.
Basically, if they'd stack, the healing would be reduced to 25%. Or they stack diminishingly. Who knows.
What you just explained is diminishing returns. Anyways my guess would be they don't stack at all.
What he explained was 50% of 50%, not diminishing returns, this is all one application of each debuff. Furious Attacks goes into effect stacking up to a 50% healing debuff, after that by applying MS you further decrease the remaining by another 50% which since it is already reduced by 50% comes out to 25%. What that leaves you with is a debuff allowing only 25% of heals to go through,
if
it is at all possible for them to stack in the first place.
