Now, I've never been Retribution, and am probably never going to be. Just...not the way I see myself. But out of common sense, and will to help if need be, how do retribution paladins fight?
Stats, spells, rotation, itemization, spell damage? Could I get a few words from an experienced one?

Ret is a wannabe warrior spec, run up to people and smash their face in with your two hand weapon. Before you even made this topic you should read the retlol guide. it breaks it down by the milisecond of a ret pally's rotation.

Stats for Retardin: Strenght, Agility, Stamina, Intelect, Atack Power and Crit Chance
And as Batoi said...you are just like a warrior but you use mana for DPSing and got less HP.
Edit: Forgot about intelect.

I suppose I'm "experienced." I leveled to 70 as ret and did instances and several raids as it too.
Spell damage was removed from PvP gear and is now a terrible stat to have. Ret paladins rely on Strength as a DPS stat. Obviously stamina is needed but intellect is important as well. Those are basically the 3 stats you need. Crit rating is also helpful for ret paladins. Big crits = lolurded.
Basically as a ret paladin, you're going to be using the following spells primarily.
Seal of Command, Seal of Blood in cases, Crusader Strike (probably the most important), Judgement, and Consecration. The consecration is just for extra DPS.
Seal of the Crusader should be judged on boss mobs and trash that may take a while to kill. It helps tremendously adding to your DPS.
Most of your damage comes from Auto-attack Seal of Command procs and auto-attack crits.
So, ArgentSun, there's your basic info about retribution paladins. And even though they're normally mocked for "not being able to DPS," which is untrue by all standards, the retribution paladin can be an extremely fun class to play, relying on burst DPS (REALLY REALLY BIG NUMBERS every few seconds versus smaller numbers in succession, such as Rogue DPS is) to kill their foes.

<--- Professional Retadin.
Get STR, Agility, Int(Lowest required Stat)
Use a rotation starting off with judging Crusader then if you're Ally or just questing use SoC. If horde use Seal of I cut myself.
Basic mechanics are simple for gameplay. Use Crusader Strike and Judgement whenever they are off cooldown save the random moments when you have them both coming off cooldown and always use CS first because it and your seals GCD one another whereas judgement does not.
Keep Omen up and when you get high on threat just autoattack or pull back and drop a heal or whatever. The worst Retadins are the ones who pull agro because they are too aggressive and give us a bad name.
If you want some Pre-T5 content Itemization check me out. I rock around 1100 DPS on fights where I get to stand still and beat down with an enh shaman. Good enough to be rocking timed runs in ZA.
Props to my guild on us getting our first bear a couple days back!
Crafted items are essential like my belt, back. The headpiece and trinket are optional but top line for ret. A lot of the items I'm wearing I can't replace till BT/MH/Sunwell.
