I'm in a BG last night and a rogue apparently inspects me,
this is him
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Farstriders&n=Stabb
. He starts with the unasked for critique of my rogue
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Farstriders&n=Zerep
, leading off with your bracers suck. I reply, yes I know, I have
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=15084
(w/+7 strenght) in the bank for when I level. He then informs me that I should be stacking strength, yada, yada, yada.
I try to stack agility and stamina, am I wrong? I may do a bit less damage but I'm not going to get hit as much therefore outlast (hopefully) my target.
He told me to get
http://www.wowhead.com/?item=19590
, but I would prefer to save my marks for 70 or maybe 80.
sorry for wall of text, but I needed to vent.
Agility and Stamina is what rogues generally stack. So your right he's wrong.

are very nice but if you want to save your marks do, especially if you have bracers waiting in the bank for when you level a few levels. Don't worry about gear very much, I'm level 44 and still have some level 25ish gear :)) and yet I still hold my own dpsing and pvping.

For starters:
The rogue that inspected you isn't so bright himself as I can tell by his gear.
Also, as stated,..
Itemising yourself for efficient levelling
Unlike post-60 gear, the items you'll find while levelling won't have a wide variety of nice stats. You'll be hard pressed to muster any decent amount of hit rating, crit rating, weapon expertise, armour penetration or haste rating while you level. Your bread and butter stats will instead be agility, stamina and attack power. Equip gear that has primarily one (excluding stamina), or a balance of at least two of these attributes.
The prevalence of strength on a lot of the gear you'll want to use is something you can't avoid. Don't hesitate to equip an item just because it has strength on it, you still gain attack power from strength.
Stamina is rather useful while levelling. With more stamina you'll be able to survive tougher fights, pull more mobs between each rest and luck permitting, even escape would-be gankers.
Your doing the right thing my friend just carry on and ignore the idiots. They aren't paying your $15/month.

1 Strength = 1 Melee Attack Power
1 Agility = 1 Attack Power + 1/40% Crit Chance (at lvl 70) + 1/20% Dodge (at lvl 70)
1 Stamina = 10 Health
1 Spirit = Useless (faster Health regen)
1 Intellect = Useless (increases the rate of gaining weapon skills)

Intellect is useless for Rogues after they got rid of the weapon skill gains. Highlight it, and you'll see that nothing is listed under the tooltip on your character sheet.
According to tests, it still increases the rate at which you train weapon skills, despite the tooltip not reading that anymore.
