Being as there will be five pets slots, i was just wondering if you guys put any thought into what five pets you want, this isnt a serious "u shld do dis cuz dey pwn n u r dum" thread, im just a bit curious on what other hunters think
the pets i want are (and ill be bm btw):
Devilsaur
(max dps in raids)
Hyena
(cripple movement in pvp)
Wasp
(anti-stealth pvp)
Rhino
(a big
hopefully
on that one, have to wait to see skill, if not than a Worm for tank)
Sporebat
(Pve cunning for mana regen, maybe a daily's pet, ill find a use :P)
Like i said, im just curious to see what the rest of the hunter community has to say and what you guys have planned

I will probably get pets as I need them, e.g. if I see a lot of casters (be it PvP or raids) I may go with a Nether Ray, if I see a lot of melee I may go with a chimera/hyena, if I see a need for just pure DPS I may go for a devilsaur, and if I see a need for something else I will use that. When I am not using that pet, it will be stabled until I have 5 stable slots, at which point I will boot the least useful pet. Let's take an example as if I was picking pets in TBC (picking classes at random, if it doesn't make sense it's not supposed to):
My group for kara has a pair of druids and a paladin tanking, with no interrupts in the group. I would pick up a Nether Ray to use for interrupts.
Moving on to arenas, since I have a shaman and a warlock on my arena team players can be pretty much snared and interrupted, so I get a ravager to stun them.
I've decided I can farm faster if I take on 3 mobs at once, between laying serpent sting on each mob and spamming multi-shot, so I get a bear to farm with (3-mobs with swipe).
Going into Gruul's/Mag's my job is really just DPS, maybe tanking an add on HKM, so I get a devilsaur for it's mad deeps skills.
Now that MgT has been released, I need some AoE, so I resort to a dragonhawk for some massive AoE damage.
On a run through ZA my group really has no AoE tank, so I spec into a BM spec and pick up all the tanking stats and get a sporebat to use on dragonhawk. However, I only have 5 pet slots, and this is my 6th pet. I guess I can get rid of my bear, since I got 2 better AoE tanks now.
That's how I will handle pets, as I need them I get them, and as they get out-done (or unneeded, such as if I stop PvPing I can drop the ravager) or simply if they're the pet I haven't used for longest I will drop them and pick up what I need for the next instance.

Of course, with Camo, cats may be REALLY nice for setting up ambushes. Saves our GCD from call.

Devilsaur: How can a 51/20/0 Hunter say 'no' to this baddie?
Crocolisk: A tanking pet with Bad Attitude, so nice.
Wasp: All for the Armor Reduction on Sting.
Rhino: Stampede's Knockback and for the tick bird critter on its horn. :)
Moth: Simply because it is a Ferocious Moth.

"We hold these truths to be self evident that all hunters should be endowed by their creator with more stable slots."
Lol, I think you might be taking it a bit serious BigRed, Wether or not this is enough slots no need to start insulting people about it.

ON-TOPIC: In Wrath, Your stabled pets do a 'level check' whenever you withdraw them. If they are more than five levels below you, they automatically catch up. :) No more boring instances of catching the skin you want but at way too low of a level. Huzzah.
OFF-TOPIC: Someone open a window, it just got a little
over-generalized
in here.
People by nature think mostly with emotions and predetermined prejudices instead of using brains, and that is why it is almost impossible to convince someone of the truth if they do not already believe it, no matter how much evidence you have to support your claim. For the most part only those with an intelligently open mind will ever be able to find out what the truth really is.
This works both ways, ya know. There is nothing we can say to convince you that five stable slots is acceptable, yet I assume you think you have an
intelligently open mind
. Any evidence supporting our case will be seen as blind Blizzard fanboyism. Regardless, no one here is talking about truth, only whether or not we think Wrath will bring enough stables, heh.
I am sure you have also been taught to believe that Science is the truth. /shrug Take good some Soc. or Anthro. courses, then get back to us. Either way, spare the Hunter forums from these irrelevant posts. Go back to posting about your bobo BM remake, I am sure the developers are just waiting to see what you've cooked up. :p
