Question for Healers in Beta....

Since the change of spell dmg and +healing to spellpower, what have you noticed as far as amount healed with your spells and so forth. Since the patch notes aren't too specific and looking thru items posted from WoTLK, I am not impressed at all from a priest healing stand point.
Whats the bonus that healers get from the spellpower, is it a modifier with a specific amount? Is it just an increase in the amount healed by the healing spells themselves? I did notice that GH8 and GH9 have a significant boost over GH7 and the scaling before was not as drastic as what is posted for 70 thru 80 healing spells....ie over 1k +healing from GH8 to Gh9.
The one thing I am wondering also, if the items are gonna be spellpower only, then that will make for interesting gearing since all casters will be bidding or rolling on gear. I can see much QQ'ing ahead without the itemization.......
If I ahve missed something somewhere about this being all explained then I apologize and would be grateful for a link or direction of such info.

The spell co-efficients for heals (how much of your +healing affects the spell) will be increased. All tests so far have confirmed you will get the same or even more healing in the same gear.

Yes that will be a problem, however there will be less useless gear dropping. If the item you want drops, you will have a ower chance of getting it, but the chance of it dropping will be increased and the utility of it for the group boosted. Overall, it "should" be ok.

To convert wotlk spellpower in current healing, multiply by 1.88
You don't lose anything on heals, they do the exact same thing.

Also, keep in mind that we have not seen any of the Tailoring items yet. There is going to be an issue between all the cloth wearing classes (Priests, Mages, Locks) over gear choices in dungeons, however.. Blizzard has not provided us with what types of tailoring items will be available for us. I know the BC sets were very powerful, and they may not be providing us with something as powerful for WOTLK but... they are not going to jip the profession either (or at least I hope not). I'm sure it will even out eventually. People will have to learn to be patient about getting items.

So shamans got full epich healing gear if they have full epich elemental? Sounds good
That's exactly what it sounds like to me - though some classes will want certain gear over others. I suspect it'll come down to +nature or +shadow or the like? They can't possibly intend to have one class be able to perform 2 roles in the same gear?

You'd need some crossover... a good ele set will be crit-heavy, and a good resto set will be mp5-heavy. Your efficiency won't be great using 1 set for 2 roles, but it will be less bad than it would be to do it today.

As a result in this change my Paladin's Healing set will change into a Spell-damage set. Much more useful for PvP and Soloing then my tanking set. (Most of my healing items happen to be PvP items).

... Which talent swap will be free (I heard you'll have several talent trees saved and can swap between them)
You're getting ahead of yourself, that is just a possibility that was mentioned.
If it gets implemented in beta, then we can discuss how nice it is.
And I agree that some of the Elemental gear (for example, the
LK Arena - Shaman Nuker Set
) in Beta will also be interesting to Resto Shamans given talents like
Improved Water Shield
,
Ancestral Healing
and
Ancestral Awakening
.
It means less unwanted or wasted drops overall.
And given the changes to Druid talent trees (
Living Seed
,
Nature's Grace
), I've stopped thinking of crit as useless on healing leather.
A couple of crit items should let me deliver more healing per sec without losing too much mana regen.
