i can't see why'd you have any serious problems. just keep doing the quests and upgrade as you go along...

About gear, just pick up anything from Qs in hellfire / zangarmarsh that will upgrade you, and do Hellfire Ramparts and Blood Furnance, maybe Slave Pens soon too.
About your spec, i have a suggestion i think is better than your current one (worked for me while lvling, im not saying its the best)
my spec @ lvl 61
finish off with 2/2 Go For The Throat, 2/2 Rapid Killing and 5/5 Mortal Shots.
It worked just fine for me in outland and got me to 70 pretty fast =)
And another personal preferance is to tame an owl (i think winterspring got the highest lvl owl available for you) and use it with Dive, Growl and Screech, its an aggro bomb when used with Intimidation and a proper BM spec. Owl is my personal favorite when grinding =)
Edit: once you ding Lv.62 you can basicly remove arcane shot etc from your action bar (tho dont do it ofc xD) ONLY use steady shot when grinding solo, and for dps in instances. use multi-shot for multiple targets if you can manage the threat from it, and arcane shot for dispelling, other than that go with steady =)

From what I can see, just keep replacing your gear with quest items, and until your in full outland greens, its pretty hard with any character of any class. Getting a ranged weapon upgrade soon will also help immensly. As for your spec, all I can say is take the 2 out of swiftness and put them into improved revive pet, as I've had my pet die on a mob, and was able to res him before the mob could get to me on more than one occasion :P.
Also as Billa said, at 62, youget Steady Shot, and this is the hunters saving grace in terms of DPS. Its mana efficient, does considerable damage and is basically how hunters do DPS instances, so its best to get used to using it now.
Your usual shot sequence will turn into: Aimedshot + arcane shot, auto shot, steady, auto, steady, auto, arcane, steady...
Happy grinding mate :P
