There is no difference other then "location". Example, the more north east your go, carbonated beverages are more commonly called "Pop". The more south west you go it turns into "Soda". Same thing, different name.
Actually, the midwest and south call it Pop, the northeast calls it Soda. I'm not sure about other areas.
On the Everyone Votes channel on the Wii, over 70% of the entire world said they prefer to call it "Soda" over "Pop." Where I come from, I call it Soda, but where I live now it's Pop.
