Paladin effective health

Well, since tanks are judged based on their health more than based on anything else, I wanted to raise an old idea from the grave, because chances are, those of you not familiar with paladin tanking mechanics, won't know what I am about to say, and of course will laugh at the first paladin tank, because they have fewer hit points than the average warrior around.
The point I want to make is this talent -
Ardent Defender (Rank 5/5)
.
What it does is, it virtually gives every tankadin ~10% (30% of 35% of total HP = 0.3x0.35xHP=.105xHP=10.5% of the total HP) effective health.
So, please, next time you see a paladin with 16k hp, think of them as a paladin with 17.5k hp, and they will look a lot more appealing to you.
Unless I am terribly mistaken?
EDIT P.S.: Or maybe that's for the PvE forums?

This is not something I want to enclose to paladin players only. We already know that, or if we don't - we should. I want when the random mage sees a paladin, to know what he is seeing.
Well, thanks for moving it...now all fish will read that the water is wet.

This wouldn't be exact math since it's situational.
The only time that this would be true is if you were taking 1 point of damage at a time, otherwise, the 35% mark will be most likely bypassed by a hit not effected by Ardent Defender.
The extreme example of this would be if your paladin gets hit for 50% of your hp, Ardent Defender will never activate.
I could get into specific mathematics, but I'm lazy as ever.

Well, seeing how most of the raid bosses hit for 4k-6k, it is very likely that the AD will activate.

Say you have 16k, or 20k raid buffed.
Say that the raid boss hits you for 5k, or 1/4 of your hp.
Only 25% of your hp will have AD on it.

I's great, but as the mods moved it into the paladin forums, only we keep reading about it. And I wanted the other classes to keep in mind that those 16k hp are only the cover of the book :S

I JUDGE BY THE COVER.
Which includes any awards and quotes and summaries :D

Never been past tier 4 content or ten mans...
I was going to bring up leapfrogging but someone else already covered it. I believe that the old talent was when you were below 20% health it reduced the damage by 50% or something like that. But that was always leapfrogged. The new talent helps prevent it but not always.
However AD does come in very handy when AOE tanking. Anyone who tanks trash on mount hyjal and sees the damage going across the screen when getting knocked down by abominations knows what I am talking about.
Or if bosses have a silence or if for whatever stupid reason, your healers can't heal you.....
Don't look at it like it is effective health. Look at it like a paladins version of a warriors last stand, or shield wall, or whatever oh @#$% buttons they have. Except this one procs on its own.

"Once it procs, I see it only as an "oh $%^&" mechanic on a very, very lucky one extra hit from a raid boss"
I saw someone say that. This is why I mentioned MH trash tanking. We can tank most of the bosses in the game but that doesn't change the fact that we can beat any warrior or druid at tanking 10+ mobs. When I am in MH I generally have between 20-22k health and 500 block value. My AD generally procs around 6000-7500 health based on what gear I am using. It will sure help against the 8k hits I was taking while tanking gorefiend the other night.... (I frapsed it to prove it for all you who say a pally cant tank him)
Like I said earlier, if you are tanking 6 ghouls 4 crypt fiends and 2 abominations, and you get hit with a

your dodge block and parry goes out the window and your taking everything they throw at you.
So like I said. If you look at the value of AD when tanking a boss who hits for 30-40% of your health, then it wont seem very valuable. But when AOE tanking, which is what we are the best at, it is very affective.
