ok guys so I just went to bm from mm about 3 weeks ago. (i finally saw the light) and up untill about a week and a half ago i never used a shot rotation macro. I have starting using the 3:2 rotation from Manito on bigredkitty.
it is working great i saw around 200dps increase from going to bm and then another 50 on top of that from the macro. currently i am doing around 700dps.
so my question is when using the macro manito said to mash it. i have it linked to a button on my mouse and i just click that thing like crazy. is that what you are supposed to do or do you click it after every steady shot?

I could be doing it wrong, but I don't mash it like crazy, I only press it enough to make sure it fires before the next shot occurs.

You get no benefit from mashing the macro while casting a steady shot but you do want to start hitting it {your latency}ms before the end of the shot so that the next /cast command reaches the server as the current shot ends. That said putting it on a button you can spam one way or another is probably a good idea so that you can be sure to keep hitting it if you need to watch something in addition to your cast bar. If you wait for your steady shot cast to completely end then you may see a 1:1 rotation despite an attack speed which can support 3:2 but that depends on your latency, reaction speed, and haste.
The best thing you can do is to use WoWWebStats or Recount or any other such tool to check your actual ratio of steady to auto shots occasionally. If the macro is not giving you the rotation you want for whatever reason then you should not be using it.
