I know that Priest are the best healers in the game with hots and all..
but the other 3 healing classes shammans, druids, paladins.
how do these three compare to one another?
I really want to roll a healer, but not a priest. Any suggestions as I like to think of this as my main going into WOTLK.

Priests are not the best healing class, They are versatile.
Shaman are excellent at raid healing and excellent buffers.
Paladins are excellent as tank healers, with their insane healing longevity.
Druids are great in both roles with their hots.

As a healadin, i mean, as a DECENT healadin, you won't run OOM.
even if you dont have HoTs, you can flash of light all day long.

Shamans are very strong tank healers, not just raid healers. With Healing Way, you can downrank even further to get the same effect (18% increase to Healing Wave).
Uhm one thing you forget in WotLK.. downranking has no use anymore.. all spells have base % mana cost now.

Try a druid :)
I guess you'd be able to like the way it works... a lot of Hots, a long heal and a good aoe healing with a huge cooldown (for the crysis situations).
