She was too low of a level. You need to be within certain range in order to get full XP from mobs.
Try again when she is ~8-10.

well she was level 8 when we tried it.

Odd...I am 70, and ran a 25 though 3 of the SM wings (no Cath) and the guy was getting ~1.5 levels per wing.

You still get XP but they did fix it to where a single character cannot gain all the XP from a mob in an instance. So when you used 2 70s it was being divided by having 2 70s in the party. You can still power-level by using 1 70 which is still as efficient as it ever was.
