Paladins do not get ranged weapons.
If you are a Blood Elf, you can use Mana Tap on targets that have Mana. If you go down the Holy tree to the 31 point talent Holy Shock, that's a ranged attack, and the 41 point Protection Talent, Avenger's Shield is a ranged attack.
However, if you want to get a trinket that fires a ranged attack (but on a 3 minute cooldown), you can do the quest chain in Un'goro crater that gives you Link's boomerang (it's a Legend of Zelda quest chain, with the names slightly changed).
Also, if you go with the Engineering Profession, you can make bombs to use as ranged.

Instead of ranged weapons paladins are able to equip
Librams
in their ranged weapon slot. Unfortunately for you those are not available until at least level 52.

Engineering is a popular choice for paladins that allow them to use bombs and such items as their source for ranged attacks because they have no others if you're not protection (IE, Avenger's Shield) or a to a lesser extent Holy (Holy Shock). Plus, who can pass up the awesome look of those epic goggles you get to make!

Engineering is the most practical way for a Paladin to get ranged weapons (and it's a fun profession anyways :). Just have to learn to be careful with the AoE circles of the various bombs and dynamites when pulling. They're not all that good for dealing damage, though, unless you're willing to spend to buy materials to power level with (WoWWiki's
Economical Engineering Training
article is a pretty good guide for that) - Solid Dynamite (213-287 fire damage) is pretty useful, despite the 1 minute cooldown, at level 24. (my Hunter is an Engineer, the guns & bullets he makes so far are better than what he can get normally, and Solid Dynamite's great for when I over-aggro and my pet's a bit swamped). Of course, you won't want to waste the higher dynamites on pulling - a stack or two of Rough Dynamite's what you'll want to use.
There's also EZ-Thro Dynamite (and EZ-Thro Dynamite II; how do you link to items in the database, anyways? Other than opening another window and copying & pasting the URL?) that Engineers can make and non-Engineers can use (unlike all of the other bombs and dynamites they make). Doesn't seem to show up in the AH much (at least on Exodar, Alliance side) at reasonable prices, but if you've got an Engineer guildie you might be able to get some that way.
