Fury new pvp spec? No.

I am tired of people saying that fury is the "new pvp spec." seriously, what people fail to realize is that while fury is going to be more
viable
for pvp, that does not mean it will be BETTER than arms. Arms is still the definitive pvp spec, thanks to
Mortal Strike
. And yes, i know someone will post referencing
Furious Attacks
, but they dont get is that it needs to have 2 melee strikes
minimum
to have that effect activate, while MS is an instant 50% debuff.
And yes, you can dual-wield 2h weapons, but the problem is that 2 will be too slow, and the only real damage would come from Whirlwind hits (possibly thousands of damage from a single WW), and whatever other fury talents do good damage (I don't know, as I've never played fury before), but regardless, fury is simply not bursty enough for serious pvpers (and I'm talking about you arena people here), except maybe in 5v5 arena. It may be alright in battlegrounds, when it's unlikely the person you're fighting has a healer with you, but fury is still meant for constant damage, not burst damage, like arms. That's not to even mention
I know some of you are going to talk about the HUGE mace spec nerf, but, imo (I know some disagree) sword spec is better for burst damage anyways (burst being the absolute KEY to pvp, so that healers have a harder time of it). So, despite fury being more
viable
for casual pvp, imho, arms is still, and hopefully will
remain
the better pvp spec, unless blizz decides to make huge, and I mean
HUGE
nerfs to arms, it is still better.
Alos,
instant execute
Also, overpower anytime from rend (which, admittedly is not great against anything except rogues, where rend ticks kill stealth and overpower negates dodges and parrys) and also, second wind for rage, justified killing for rage, wrecking crew for bonus burst, bladestorm im not so sure about, but could potentially be nice damage situationally. Also, Imp. Intercept.
I'm done now, discussion would be nice. Love to see fury warrior's viewpoints on this as I have never played fury before, and testers views on playing fury in pvp (if they have at all) in WotLK would be nice.

Whirlwind will see a 30-40% increase to it's damage with two-handers as opposed to one-handers, it's not as big a deal as people make it to be when you consider that it is only worth ~20% of our damage at the moment. Comparatively speaking, Whirlwind as Fury will do 95% more damage than Arms, including the new Improved Whirlwind.

IMO, Furious Attacks will be better than MS since you'll won't need rage and and there's no cool down so the debuff will be up constantly. I do agree though that it won't be "THE" PVP spec since I can't imagine how much harder it'll be to kill mages without Imp Intercept, Unrelenting Assault will definitely make Rogue smashing easier.

Oh yes, i wasn't saying that if you do pvp you *have* to do fury, i was just saying that arms remains better for pvp than fury is, and anyone who says fury is better is just fooling themselves
But yeah, no matter what it is important to remember that its just a game and having fun is definitely the most important thing in the game.

How will two, two handers be slower?
Its same speed imo, read tooltip.
Two swings is instant if you have weapons with the same speed as an opener, dont even come on warrior forums ranting that fury sucks for pvp, its obviously going to be seen in arenas alot.
my bad on the 2 2h, didnt see that they changed it to take off the 20% reduced speed. And also, im not saying that fury sucks for pvp altogether, im just saying that it wont be competitive in arena and serious bgs thanks to the lack of burst

Furious attacks has been nerfed to a PPM mechanic as of a few days ago, not so hot anymore. No word yet on the target proc rate though that I know of.

I have one word for you.
Prot.
Call me crazy, but that's what I'm going to be pvping as.
that should be interesting, i did see some nice looking prot talents such as
Warbringer
, which allows the use of charge in any stance AND in combat, which makes it better than intercept (apart from the shorter stun, of course), having a much shorter cd than intercept and also generating rage at the same time. I would honestly like to see a video of that.

Of course fury is going to have burst, did you not read the guys post above?
Stop being an arms fanboy, yes, arms has more talents to control the fight but I can seriously see fury warriors shining in competetive 5v5 dealing massive damage and generally wreaking havoc.
I'm not biased towards one spec, arms is fun, fury is crazy fun, and tanking pretty fun, I'll try all builds but I'm really going to have fun with fury in pvp.
Yes I prefer fury to the other builds but I'm not biased towards it, arms still is THE pvp build.

ITT: The new fury spec sux
This is why arms is better.
NO ITS NOT
YES IT IS
NO ITS NOT IDOT
NO U
fury is op in wotlk
NO YOU FURY RETARDS
ARMS ROX U CANT KILL US LOL
YES WE CAN
Choosing between Fury and Arms in WoTLK is serius buisness eh?
Who said that?
Seriously, flaming somebody is bad enough, but flaming an entire subject? Anyways, personally I think it'd be cool if both Arms and Fury we're viable for PvP, though i'm pretty certain that in the end Arms will be the generally accepted 'better' spec, Because Bliz tends to make differant specs for differant reasons. (Fury is still PvE DPS, therefore their more likely to lean towards Arms for PvP)
