/run local Tt,t,c=Tt or {} for i=1,25 do t=string.match(GetTrackingInfo(i) or "","Track (.+)") if t then t=gsub(t,"s$","") Tt=i end end c=UnitCreatureType("target") if Tt then SetTracking(Tt) print("Tracking "..c) end
Above code is a working Tracking macro found on a WoWWiki website... Put it in a macro button, choose a target and then press the macro... It will automatically set your tracker to whatever mob type you selected... The only flaw is that both the tracker and Hunter's Mark are on the same GCD meaning you're not able to use this macro and place a Hunter's Mark on your target at the same time... If there's a way, please post it...
#showtooltip Steady Shot
/run for i=1,GetNumTrackingTypes() do local n, t, a, c = GetTrackingInfo(i); if string.find(n, UnitCreatureType("target")) then if t~=GetTrackingTexture(i) then SetTracking(i); end end end
/cast Steady Shot
*Edited* Above macro is a better version than the one i posted at the top of this post... What it does is, if you have a target selected, it will choose the correct tracking type before u start casting your steady shot... Basically, you can spam this macro like you would with the normal steady shot... *Note* I'm not the creator of the improved tracker code, I found it on some forum.

I think this may be off topic a little but heres a way to quickly turn hunter tracking on and off, this is a copy / paste
/run SetTracking(7,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
yeah that works great I just repeat the line (up to 4 per macro) and replace the number. for hunter tracking it is as follows, as of patch 5.2
2 Beasts
3 Demons
4 Dragonkin
5 Elementals
6 Giants
7 Hidden
8 Humanoids
9 Undead
so one macro would look like this for beasts, demons, dragonkin and elementals
/run SetTracking(2,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(3,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(4,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(5,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
feel free to copy / paste the 4 lines, heres the other 4 for the second macro
for Giants, Hidden, Humanoids, and undead
/run SetTracking(6,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(7,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(8,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
/run SetTracking(9,IsAltKeyDown()and true or false)
so in 8 lines (2 macro buttons) you can hit the Alt or not and the button you put the icon to and turn them all off or on easily. I have to hit them a few times but I like it better than click-hover-popout-click repeat.
and I like to turn them off when i'm out of a BG and herbing/mining but back on when in a BG etc, less dots makes me happy when herbing lol, I hope this helped.(##RESPBREAK##)16##DELIM##asakawa##DELIM##My understanding is that Hunter tracking has changed enough since 2008, when this thread was made, that some details in this thread are now misleading. As such I'm going to lock this. Perhaps your post could find a better home where it doesn't bring stuff back from too far in the past.
