Inscription and an extra inscription slot?

Currently I'm a tailor/skinner. I'm pretty sure that tailoring sets will be nerfed come the expansion, so I'm looking to herb/inscription.
I have HEARD that inscriptors will have one additional inscription slot, much as enchanters can self-enchant rings. Can anyone back this up? I have no link or anything, though I've heard it mentioned in the forums. I've been able to track down all of the new bonuses to professions, like Mixology and Master of Anatomy, etc, but I can't find the "additional inscription slot" bonus one.
Any help appreciated.
Also, I'd love to know more about inscription in general. I've found some things, but if anyone has helpful links, I'd love to have them. Just for the basics of it. The wowwiki thing lists 2 Greater, 2 major, and 2 minor inscriptions, but on wowhead I can only find Major ones sited.
Once again, any help is appreciated.

What you're thinking about is 'Glyph Mastery'. Here's a more in depth discussion:

But it looks like blizzard hasn't finalised this yet, so I wouldn't jump the gun on inscription yet... I've been thinking about it too, for my herb/alch warlock, but so far all that's there to read about the skill is the glyph list, and I'm not sure if that's enough.
Btw, have you read up on the new Tailoring Embroidery items? They seem like a fairly decent boost.

In fact the spell for glyph mastery is no longer listed on wowhead. Whether that's just an oversight, or it's been removed is yet to be seen however.

Thanks to both of you. I'm not planning on doing anything until the release.
Seems that glyphs in general are very powerful, in some cases adding completely new options (for instance, power word: shield now also heals the target for 20% absorbed).
It seems as though it would be incredibly more powerful than having +stats to rings or whatnot, from the glyphs I've read.
Thanks for that link and the name. Appreciate the help :D

That's pretty much what I thought as well, but you have to keep in mind that the Glyphs are all just one-spell boosters, and a lot of them are very situational.
Take the example you gave of your Shield healing for 20% of its absorption - decent for an instance healer or pvp, but it's going to be wasted in all cases where you cast Shield pre-emptively and so it's mostly useless while solo levelling, and how much you get out of it in general depends on how heavily you use Shield (and some priests use it very little). Compared to the better talents, like 10% more healing on all heals, that 200-300 heal per cast is a small-ish boost.
I'm thinking that with the Glyphs it will be very much a case of picking ones that work with your particular playstyle... boosting spells that you don't use is a non-starter, and i think trying to change your playstyle so you end up using a glyph'ed spell more will be hard for most players.
That said, there should be good money in it, every time someone respecs they will need to re-Glyph in order to get back to an efficient build. And as players level they will re-glyph at various points as well.
