I would think
Shard of Contempt
and
Bloodlust Brooch
are better for you. I have both of them for my dps set.

Another very good trinket, that'll cost you far less than the Deck, is the
Hourglass of the Unraveller
. You can get it to drop in Black Morass often.

Berserker's Call
is another possibility.

Truly a waste of gold, how many times do you land the killing blow? Sure Execute helps, but honestly, how many times in a raid do you see Victory Strike light up?

he just said that he only spent, at most, a couple hundred gold on the deck and just got it.
Go you, should be a nice trinket for you.

Lets not forget about
Dragonspine Trophy
as one of the best war / rogue / hunter /ret pally trinkets in game.
Congratz on the deck btw.

well, thanks for the imput, but i was in H BM last night and won the 5 of lunacy and the others were only in the AH for 5 - 30g rather than their usual 100-300g... The WoW gods have made it obvious that i should get the Madness Deck.
its pretty much crap for dps only good for early tanking before you get the pocket watch or if you need second stam trinket but even for that commendation/fury deck is better

You may want to consider just leveling as prot, since they're reworking the tanking items to have more strength and making tanking skills scale better with strength and AP.
Look through the WotLK Wowhead site for your gear and check out the changes to Devastate and the other tanking skills to see if you can pull off decent dps in your tanking gear/spec.
You should also compare the WotLK stats on your gear to that of greens/blues and find out at what point you'll actually be replacing pieces. From what I've seen, Sunwell epics last till around 78, with those rare irreplaceable pieces popping up (like
Styleen's Impeding Scarab
was in TBC) It may not even be worth the time to get a better DPS set ready for WotLK, but that all depends.
Oh yeah, the question was if he should get the deck or not... get
this
.
