As long as you have at least one level 55 character on any server then you can create one death knight per server of any race (unless it's a pvp server and you already have a character on it, then it has to be on the same side). You do not need to sacrifice any characters or anything like that.

Everytime someone creates a DK, Blizzard randomly deletes a Gnome character. Everytime someone creates a Gnome DK, the game crashes.

Simply have a character of at least level 55 on the World of Warcraft account you play, and you will be able to create a new level-55 death knight of any race (if on a PvP realm, the death knight must be the same faction as your existing character). Upon entering the world, your neophyte death knight will undertake a series of quests designed to teach you your new abilities. You will be able to create one death knight per realm, per account.
Easy enough.

Go for it. I actually can't take credit, it was an old guildie of mine way back. We were doing an SM run on alts and had three of us and two pick-ups, one of which was a rogue who had no idea what he was doing and was refusing to listen to advice, prefering to cause wipes instead. So my guildie (resto druid, main healer/group leader) said that and /kicked him. I was laughing for about 5 min straight.
