Ive heard that boomkin is pretty efficiant at leveling when u hit outland, altho i never really put this to the test i can imagine the sudden increase in spell dmg loot available from quets to enable a player to gain a substancial boost,
id also consider solo'ing easier as boomkin with roots and the ability to heal well (ish) whilest still maintaing a high armour in moonkin form (sp*)

Feral is the grinding spec, hands down. Not just for druids, but for the whole game, no other class can grind like we do. No one.
Affliction locks can kill as fast, also with zero downtime. They need to pull several mobs at once in order to achieve the same number of kills per minute, but there's still zero downtime.

Shadow Priests are one of the most efficient classes to level after one reaches the mid-20s to 30s & picks up pace greatly at 40 & 50. Nothing beats wanding mobs to death while watching TV.
In my personal experience as a moonkin at 60 & leveling to 70 is that the rewards in Hellfire Peninsula alone are well enough to give upwards of 300+ spell damage, plus mana regeneration (make sure your talent build focuses on gaining
Intensity
&
Dreamstate
as soon as possible). While leveling my druid in these areas, drinking did occur & it would happen every four to six mobs.
Some important factors I have noticed that contribute to excessive downtime include a poor spell rotation and/or poor gear choices from quest rewards. Once a player gets
Lifebloom
healing fun really starts to shine.
Of course, the most important thing to remember is to use the highest available form of water while leveling. Also, make sure to use Innervate on every cooldown to really relieve some downtime. One thing is for sure, moonkin downtime is well-worth the effort once one has decent gear & plenty of water. Just don't sacrifice too much spell damage for mana regeneration or you may cripple yourself!

The everlasting underspore frond was all the food/water I ever needed while leveling my druid. 10 food/water every 12 hours.
After leveling and getting more gear, I never stop to drink/eat.
