I like it so far. They should do more events like this. It really fits in with the hallow's end event and nicely transitions into the launch of WotLK. Excellent job Blizzard!

I have no problem with people having fun. Heck, I've gotten infected a few times and went on a killing spree myself. BUT, there are certain people who find it fun to kill lowbies for hours on end. This is GRIEFING according to Blizzard's ToS. The world event doesn't give you free reign to grief players. Code of Conduct still apply.
Let me reiterate. Going around and killing a few lowbies and infecting quest givers IS NOT griefing. It IS fun. But when you make it a habit of hitting the same people and killing whole towns for HOURS on end. That IS griefing and it is NOT fun.
When you spend your entire evening corpse walking because some people find it funny to kill you again and again (and this is happening in every major lowbie questing hub on my server) that is NOT fun. People who pay to play the game can't play it. Its more than a minor disruption. Its a complete and total inability to play. Which is VERY angering to people paying 15 bucks a month.
The whole "Blizzard makes the rules. Deal with it." attitude is going to screw you in the long run. This is capitalism. The consumer makes the rules. Deal with it. And right now many consumers are angry that they can't play a game they are paying 15 bucks of their own money to play because certain players are camping FOR HOURS in the only places they can quest.
AGAIN. I'm not talking about the average Joe killing a town and a couple of npcs. I'm talking about groups of people who spend
HOURS
killing the same players and quest givers.
That is NOT just a little bit of fun. That's rude. That's inconsiderate. And your attempts to excuse it by labeling us as "whiners" is tantamount to a kindergarten bully attempting to convince its victim not to go tell the teacher because they know they are going to get in trouble.
A few guildies and I spent much of the evening cleansing Sentinel Hill from the Scourge invasion. A single holy paladin can do some massive damage. Many players appreciated us providing cover so they could manage some questing. Others were total assess whining and complaining about how we were ruining their fun and swearing up and down because we killed them.
Reminds me of the Horde who raid Sentinel Hill then get on alts and swear at me because I killed them repeatedly...
Get over it. When you're up against someone your same level and you're flagged for pvp (you're automatically flagged as a zombie) you're fair game.
Personally, I'm waiting for the Silver Hand or the Argent Dawn to begin a retaliatory offensive.

Again...hard to play the game when you're camped for HOURS.
Are you reading anything I say? At all? I'm not complaining about getting killed. I'm not complaining about people getting killed. I'm complaining about people camping lowbies for HOURS. Not minutes. Not half an hour. ALL evening me and my guild patrolled westfall because the same group of griefers were harassing lowbies.
I'm not asking for a sterile environment. I'm asking for some common sense and courtesy.
Its easy to say its whining when you have a level 70 and come in and wipe these guys across the floor. But some people don't. And there are some people taking full advantage of that.
Fun at the unmerciful expense of others doesn't sound fun to me.
Do you people have any concept of reality? Hours of griefing. Not a raid of undead wiping out sentinel hill for half an hour or even an hour. We're talking all evening of level 70s killing level 10-20s despite being asked to leave them alone.

I strongly Disagree. This is a world event that blizz has created to boost the coming of the Lich King and his scourge. There is no telling what could happen in the world event. And the "world" cant be affected by the TOS (I feel) in this situation. Im sorry but I strongly feel " What happens.. happens." Granted I think the 70s should be focusing on the NPCs to help increase the infecting. But maybe camping a site also has its strategies.

Can we still talk and trade across factions as zombies? Or has that been hotfixed?

But Childofnewlight, you have to take into account also the opposite happening. 70s ganking the zombies so much, they can't have fun. I know you're on the con-side of this conversation, but I was running around Sentinel Hill trying to remain a zombie, but for a while we had a Ret Pally (BE) constantly killing us and any other Alli that was in PvP including the lower levels. Then after a while, he left but a couple (possibly Arms) warriors and a shaman would keep ganking us so much that as soon as we would be a zombie, they would run over and smack us... And we weren't at all after players, majorly relatively non-important NPCs.
There are two sides to this, and I don't find it fair for the zombies side to be ignored. Sure, if people are ganking players, sure kill them... But not all of the zombies were doing that
at all.
Some of us were just taking advantage of it and trying to have fun, and if you don't ask the person or take due note of all of their actions, you might be ruining someone else's fun, and might cause them to go after regular players because they can to tick you off. Denying someone something, makes them want it more or just might force them to do the action you are denying them, possibly making the situation worse.
I personally think this event is cool and works with everything going on at this time (Pre-WotLK & Hallow's End) and if anything, if you can't complete quests, try to move to somewhere else. Sentinel Hill is being Zombie-ganked. Don't go there for the length of this event, if you do, it's your option, just understand the risks. *shrug*

It's fun, but now I'm kind of sick of it..
Leveling on a PvP server is already a bitch, but now I have to look out for allies and zombies.
Before this, I was pretty good on the way to getting my alts to 70 before WotLK, but now that's not going to happen..

I told a friend of mine about this event. He summed up rather nicely why people are getting upset about this:
"Why, because a bunch of people you don't know are making it impossible for you to play the game that you pay for?"
That's pretty succinct.
I went into Ironforge once, and all three bankers were infected. TWo of the auctioneers were infected, too. All of the battlemasters were infected, as well.
At the very least, certain NPCs should be immune to this. Because this is interfering with just basic gameplay. For a moment, forget the entire discussion about griefing and player-on-player interaction. People are just throwing wrenches into the machine.

Certain NPCs should be immune to this? Like only the King of Stormwind is?
Yeah. Thats a bit lame too I admit, but if you want to do the 'hours on end killing', you only get about half an hour to fix it in because our players come streaming in after they hear the world defense. Eugh. Darkshire with two hundred zombies can't kill ten bloody heroes.
At least the GMs are much better in this three week period.

Oh and about all those people whining about leveling. I'm doing it just fine on an alt in a Hillsbrad. And i'm even making frequent contact to Tarren Mill. Maybe it's just the realm or maybe the faction.

When killed as a zombie your actionbar is reset its really annoying

Never before have I been able to use /violin so much. The people complaining of
being ganked by zombies
zombies ganked by players
healers cleansing the infected
zombies killing NPCs
and every other possible
reason to whine
combination are likely to be the exact same people who moan when Blizzard DOESN'T do a world event. Keep this in mind - it's a once in a lifetime world event and you are moaning because it's getting in the way of levelling your 10th alt on the realm? Bored of gankers? Goto a PvE realm. Don't like zombies swarming you? Learn to adapt, stay clear of population centres unless necessary and keep your wits about you - team up with other like-minded people.
Embrace this as an opportunity to do something different because you will NOT get the chance like this again. Have fun while it lasts .
Now, stop the pointless ranting here - Blizz are not going to read this post on wowhead and realise "hang on, Faceless Nub #99 on wowhead isn't having fun, best change the event". Get stuck in there, fight the zombie hordes tooth and nail and when you eventually succumb and turn into a zombie, go after the living with the same zeal with which you purged the zombies!
One final point. I can't believe, for a moment, that a coordinated group of people would zombie camp a settlement for "HOURS". Actually, that's not what I can't believe - I can't quite understand why someone who has been repeatedly killed in the same place for "hours" didn't decide to avoid that place after the first few times they died! Who is the fool - the "fun spoiling zombies" or the idiot who keeps running back into them.... ><

I"Why, because a bunch of people you don't know are making it impossible for you to play the game that you pay for?"
That's pretty succinct.
You're missing the point. The game you're paying to play has changed, either you adapt or stop playing; it truly is that simple.
