rofl..you are sounding more and more like the failing youth of this country. keep on digging that hole.
Those "failing" youth fail so hard that their hard work and dedication got the first ever black president elected. If you would have seen what I have this election season you would understand that the "failing youth" is nothing more than a media myth.

I was complaining big time when gas hit $4 a gallon...not exactly the same thing as WoW being down but whatever. It would be nice for Blizz to at least do what they say they'll do. Being more specific with problems would be a great way to make people stop whining. I'm not very happy myself. I'm 20 with 2 kids and I can at least find something else to do. However, I don't understand how the servers can be perfectly fine then when they go do maintenance it winds up screwing up.
Honestly, a little bit of efficiency in the coding would be my call. And when its something as big as a ~10GB ball of script and code, its not hard to understand that 1 piece of code fix can actually conflict with another piece of code. This is where the problem lies and this is a problem that no one can really foresee. I'm not saying that they did a horrible job at programming wow, its something that can be found in every single game. Though when you have a game that's been released and has been evolving, you're bound to run into hiccups.
And for those complaining, I can see why you can't understand that the world we live in, or the world of warcraft that you live in, isn't perfect and never will be. Its a sad realization but a true one that you will learn when you live on your own. Behind the name of Blizzard are only people that, if you don't remember, were busting their asses off last night, well later than when they were probably planning to go home that day. Think about it, is it really that big of a deal? You can't play your game for 3 damn hours, they're stuck in their offices doing their job for 3 hours longer than they plan to. And if you think troubleshooting code is fun, it isn't.

From login screen, at 7:15AM PST "...we will provide an update within the hour".
It's now 8:40 PST...and, surprise, no update.
It's not the downtime (too much), it's the lack of information.

here is my question...we can take this frustration out over a game server being down by blowing up the message boards, but where were we all when gas hit $4 a gallon?
We were busy not spending any money and not paying our mortgages on time. We crashed the stock market to lower gas prices and now gas prices are under $2 a gallon and dropping quickly. See, all we had to do to fix the gas prices was destroy the global economy, and the experts said it would have to get to $5 a gallon for that to happen....WE SHOWED THEM.
