How effective is Benediction?

At level 70, for holy and protection paladins, an average seal is aroung 250 mana, 15% of that would be 37.5 mana/judgement. Assuming normal judgement time for raids and improved judgement for shockadin PvP:
675 mana for a protection paladin in a 3 minute boss fight.
281 mana for a shockadin in a 1 minute PvP combat.
From this point of view, my opinion is that Protection paladins will generally benefit more from speccing into Improved Blessing of Might for 44 AP for the entire raid or party.
In Retribution paladins, you have 50% mana returns from Sanctified Judgement, soon to be 80% with patch 2.3.2.
Seal of Command is 280 mana, that means 21 mana is saved per Seal of Command.
Assuming spamming Judgement, with 2 points in Improved Judgement (you won't be spamming all the time but for calculation)
472.5 mana saved from a 3 minute boss fight.... about the same as a level 22 mana potion.
With special attacks and raid buffs, I've noticed a 300 white DPS rogue can pull up to about 900 DPS, or roughly about 3 times the damage done.
Assuming the case for all physical DPS types, 44 AP = 9.4 DPS
If there are 2 melee DPS in a 10 man, this is around 18.8 DPS for the cost of 1 level 22 mana potion every battle.
If there are 5 melee DPS in a 25 man, this is around 27 DPS for the cost of 1 level 22 mana potion every battle.
Is it worth it? I'm not sure...
But with the possible 2.3.2 changes the mana returns are lowered from 21 to 8.4, that means that you save 189 mana per 3 minute boss fights.
In my opinion, Benediction is becoming useless.
Now, I want to hear your feedback,
Thanks and Regards

1v1 ret
mp5 vs DPS from choosing Benediction or Improved Blessing of Might
currently
Benediction = 13.125 mp5
Improved Blessing of Might = 3.14 DPS
2.3.2
Benediction = 5.25 mp5
Improved Blessing of Might = 3.14 DPS
In terms of Itemization
44 AP = 22 points
13.125 mp5 = 33 points
5.25 mp5 = 13 points

Bah, let the ret pallies worry about casting might, we can always cast kings on ppl, who doesn't love kings? :)

unless the rogue has 2200+ agility&strength, Might gives more AP than Kings
And there are times when there are no ret paladins, usually in a 5 man

The mana savings from Benediction in a 3m boss fight would be ~ 1 consecration ~ 3 holy shields
I'll will stick with Benediction over iBom

Yea, but think about it like this as well --> How often are you lacking mana in a boss fight?
I'm always near full in mana for a new boss encounter for me, and if you do lack mana, you're probably overgeared and probably can hold aggro with SoW and JoW like I do...
just trying to make conversation here...

Yeah, but in general BoK> iBoM so I would rather up my mana efficiency in every fight over improving a sometime used blessing. Besides as a prot pally we are really after deflection, its just a choice of iBom or Benediction to get there.
Neither talent is an "OMG I GOTTA HAVE IT" talent

Benediction will be of more use when soloing/farming. I would never bless myself with might (usually have BoW up). Since, as been pointed out, in a group situation, the difference is negligable, I think this is enough to decide on Benediction.
I have never specced imp BoM, it has always seemed incredibly lacklustre.
