Another Epic, for me is my second fight against gruul. We had wiped twice before and people was on edge of leaving. But we all decided to try once more, The battle was going pretty well until one small mishap happened on his Shatter phase, which lost a few party members. After that the battle went downhill until he killed the last few dps. Just as i used my last mana to cast my last shadowbolt, the tank died. Just as Gruul was running to me all i could do was shoot with my wand, just as he came close, my wand finally shot and we had killed him. When we killed him the only two alive were me with around a quarter health left and a healer with around a quarter health left. It was a great feeling to have survived that when most of the group had died.

Two events hit me on this question and after some thought I decided to go with this one: Polymorph Turtle. My first serious character was a mage that I took through the vast majority of "Ye Olde Raids." Back then I had a lot more time than I do now, so I spent a unhealthy amount maxing out things most people would liken to being "cancerous" in effect (The most well known being the fact I've collected every single "mystical lizard" pet. Welps, wyrms, and so forth. Broke that habit by not getting the Wrath CE). Luckily, I lost my mind long before those bits of logic could bore in.And luckily, Blizzard gives to those that prune away their soul like a fidgety old man would widdle wood on the porch of a back waters bayou shanty. When I discovered that the hydra boss in ZG (Gaz'somethingorother) had a chance to puke up a book to teach me a turtle polymorph, I was already casting lines off the dock in Elwynn Forest.Ye Olde Day Fishing.Yeah.To say the least I quickly discovered -why- maxing out this profession was a smidgen short of watching paint dry, but I was focused on getting that damn turtle book since nobody in the guild WANTED to level fishing nor did they care about my precious book of mystical turtles. It was an -ideal- situation. I even spoke with the other mages, asking them if they would allow me the first book if I leveled the profession. It took a couple of days of off and on bouts of fishing before I -finally- hit 300 and was able to start fishing for the ZG boss. My raid mates were thrilled to be carving their names in the hide of another monster and I was giddy about having a chance to be a unique butterfly with the ability to turn things into turtles. Then it did not drop. Misery. No big deal, it will drop eventually.Fast forward a month down the line and I'm now working forty hours a week, my time very limited and still without a book of mystical turtle magic. My raid mates now know of my misery and have either taken the mantle of making fun or being sympathetic. It became somewhat of an event, to the point some were making bets on whether or not it would drop and how many tears would stream down my face when it did not.I believe it was the 8th attempt at the boss where the raid leader went silent for longer than necessary (This was not a fresh act, the last long pause gaining a very plain "I hate you" over my microphone into vent which caused an eruption of giggles). He linked the loot aannnnnnd... no book. Surprise. Surprise. Misery. Vent erupted in jeers and heartful laughter as my misery continued on.Then it appeared in my bags. "Grats, dude."To this day I have never heard a longer stream of "NNNNOOOOOO" from various people in vent.I believe I am one of at least three mages that has that book on my server, even though I don't play the character anymore. I always got comments on it whenever I did an instance. Even so much I had horde players jabbing me with their alliance accounts to turn them into turtles a few times just so they could see.Pig? Sheep? Now black cats and penguins? Pah, I say. Turtle supremacy.
One of my ^&*!in epic loots was also my first purple like Starkie, but mine was called the Elemental Rod or something like that, and it looked %^&*in sick, a straight stave with rubies and stuff, and at the top end there was a halo like circle floating on top of the stave. Its worth like 14 gs on sale to NPCS, but i reckon i can snab 50 g's for it on the AH, gives an intelly bonus as well as mainly resistances agaisnt ALL elements. Man was i *!@#in stoked, cept i use a hunter :(.Anyways thats what my epic loot was. I HOPE I WIN! lol i know lame
Its not exactly a drop, but my most epic item moment came from winning a comic contest online, Tyrael's hilt. I won it in August and there hasn't been a day yet that I haven't had him out.I have collected over 60 non combat pets and Mini Tyrael is still the crown of my collection, and will most likely conitinue to be until I eventually quit WoW.
Best epic that ever dropped for me was T7.5 helm! It dropped for me on the first week and even though there were 7 people rolling on it I GOT IT WOOOT.
For a while I Kept getting Runic Hammer plans as a drop. drove me crazy, not a blacksmith, the hammer shouldn't be purple, crazy goods to smith, and doesn't sell for squat in the auction house
