My most epic piece of loot would pretty easily be my Rhok'delar. My guild had been stuck at Domo for a long time and this was the first time we had downed him. BOOM, Ancient leaf. There were like five other hunters in the raid, and I had been saving my DKP up for months simply because like no GS loot was dropping. I immediately spent the DKP required on it, and went to work on my bow. I got the Burning Steppes demon down easy, and the Un'goro one easy. Silithus guy was a bit of a challenge, but I just used the simple "duel a warlock with recklessness" tactic and it was no problem. It took FOREVER to get the kiting for the Winterspring boss down, but eventually I did it with the help of mob-clearing with some friends. Lo-and-behold I had my bow (and staff), and then I worked on dominating BGs.
Most epic loot I ever got was Willy from Children's Week. :)
My first random blue world drop. I literally went insane with happiness while questing in Hillsbrad Foothills when Amy's Blanket dropped. At first I didn't really know what had happened, the only blues my my lvl 27 rogue had seen up until this point were on other characters and I was convinced this was an error of some sorts or that a GM was close by loling. But gradually it sunk in that this had randomly dropped for ME!After looking at the stats I finally convinced myself that this cape was completely useless for my Rogue and after asking a few friends who had long had lvl 60's for their opinions was horrified to be told that I'd have to deal with the AH (something that I hadn't done before and instantly started worrying about). The Cape alas ended up with a Vendor.A bitter sweet moment (and one that I look back now on and laugh at for the sheer noobness of my thinking back then) but my first ever 'epic' drop in wow and one that I'll probably remember forever.
I started playing WoW well after it had been out for a long time. In fact it took me several weeks to even get leveled high enough to get in Outlands when TBC released. It was always so frustrating to hear about a funny quest or item name - only to experience it weeks or months later after it was old news. By the time I ever did an instance or raid anything that dropped had been seen a million times. I just never got to be the 'cool' kid with an item on the front end before everyone had it... or in my case often they had it and already upgraded it.Enter wotlk... finally I'm there from the start getting to see and experience things with the first tier of folks! I even manage to get into a regular 10 man Naxx in the first few weeks. So here comes my most epic loot - first run the trash of the Arachnid Wing dropping an Omen of Ruin. I finally have my 2 minutes of WoW fame. haha... Very fun to be inspected and having people ask where I got something or give me a 0.o whisper. Just something I'm not used to. Even here on Wowhead, I posted my first item picture as this item hadn't been posted yet.Now that's an epic loot! : )
When I got my Azuresong Mageblade :)
My most epic would have to be The 1 Ring, it made me chuckle :D
When I finally hit 375 LW. Man, it was awesome. I had the Boots of Utter Darkness pattern sitting in my bank since 300 and I made it that very second.
