the most epic loot i ever had was back in vanilla wow...i was going 1 vs 6 @ the blacksmith in AB and running in on my orc warrior listening to superbeast by rob zombie playing in the background. I ended up taking all 6 out and 2 that rezed with a string of mortal strike crits and massive dmg all in all to take the BS flag for the horde!that is the most epic loot i have ever gotten in wow! the BS flag!FOR THE HORDE!
The most epic battle I can remember is our first Prince Malchezaar kill in Karazhan. This was over a year ago, when people thought t4 helms were a symbol of divinity. I was main tank throughout most of our karazhan clearing, and Prince was the biggest trouble of all of them. Every time, we seemed to get impossible infernal placements and the worst people chosen for the axes. We had already had two 1% wipes and one 2% wipe in our numerous tries (what are the chances right?). Well, it was late in the raid on Monday night (Next day reset!) and we had just had one of the two 1% wipes that occurred. Everyone was feeling down, but I told them one more shot, as the 1% wipe only made me more determined. Everyone grumbled except for the paladin, who seemed to think like me. We started the fight, and phase 1 went well, despite difficult infernal placements. In phase two, which is where I usually blew cd's and trinkets, I didn't, keeping them for that dreaded 1%. A few dps died in phase 2, leaving us with 6 at the beginning of phase 3. The axes immediately went for a mage and dropped him fast, then went to a shadow priest right as an infernal dropped on the casters. The shadow priest fell leaving us with me, 2 healers, and a hunter with about 12% left. The hunter and a priest died at about 5% for standing too close to him after an enfeeble (due to repositioning around infernals), leaving me and a paladin. Slowly I dps'd prince to 3% when an infernal fell on the paladin. With really nowhere to go, he bubbled telling me to go all out before it wore off. He died with a little less than 2% left, throwing lay on hands on me right before dying. At this point, I hit all my "Oh !@#$" buttons: Last Stand, Shield Wall, Blacksmith chestpiece, Moroes' Watch, Health Pot, Healthstone, Nightmare Seed, etc." With all these combined with the armor from lay on hands, I was able to withstand Prince's axes and melee for about 10ish seconds, finallly shield slamming him with about 1400 health left as he raised his hand to hit me one last time. The cheers from the raid filled vent, and I could not believe what just happened. Shortly thereafter, we realized we were all dead save for me. I told everyone not to release, that we would just do loot while dead. After looting, I realized that the loot gods had finally had mercy, probably due to the amazing performance. The defender and champion helms dropped, plus the healing mace and cloak. It was a unanimous decision who got the first helms in the guild. The kicker here is that after receiving the helm over a year ago, I still have not replaced it. Hex Lord was a royal pain in the ass, never dropping his helm in over 50 kills, according to my loot addon. I have only killed Archimonde once, Illidan once, and never did kill Vashj. Now in Wrath, I haven't had a chance to play much, so I have yet to replace my Warbringer Greathelm, even at 80. I know that sadly, it's time will come to an end but it will be forever in my bank, keeping its legacy from the time lost first victory over Malchezaar. I don't think it could have been written any better in a movie script, and I cursed myself for not filming it. Ever since, I have filmed the first kill of many difficult bosses, just in case something similar happened. (which it did on our first and only Illidan kill, with a main hand warglaive).
My guild was working on Illidan for about 4 weeks with all to distress. We were about to call the raid after this attempt. Everything is going ok. Looking like a kill until Phase 2. The elementals spawn and one of the tanks is tanking. The healers to our dismay didn't get a heal off in time. So a result as of which was our tank died. A lone fury warrior picks up the elemental. We managed to get it down in record time. So after that we get through it. Here is where it goes wrong. Only a few people managed to control the parasites. We had them running everywhere. We are still trying to burn with people running everywhere trying to kill them and Illidan. So people are laying dead everywhere. You have 4 people alive. Warlock tank, 2 healers, and a ret paladin. He is at 150k health. Everyone on vent is screaming. The warlock tank goes down. Illidan slaughters the two healers. He is now at 50k. Everyone is saying stuff like GG, Nice try get em next time. When the paladin then, bubbles and gets him to 25 when it runs off. Illidan got the paladin down to 1k or so. The paladin blows Lay on Hands. Manages to kill him. Everyone was so flabbergasted. Then all of a sudden people were like cheering in vent. We ressurect everyone. Raid leader loots the corpse. What is staring us in the face? The main hand Warglaive. I was first inline to get it as a rogue. That is my epic loot story.
Yes I am boring.Back in vanilla wow I was questing over in Felwood and out of the blue Glowing Brightwood Staff dropped for me. I didn't even see it at first as I had autoloot on. I just happened to glance at my chat window window and was like wtf is with the purple text! I couldn't use it myself but I happened to have a good warlock friend that could . We miss you Kanubee!
Getting my Nemesis set back when it didnt have its final graphic lol
