I've made a few adjustments to the existing sections to account for updated testing and patch changes. There'll be new sections added quite soon. I've added a preview of the PVE section.

Thanks Remx, and other contributors, for your hard work on this thread. It helped me level up efficiently, and got me off on the right foot for gear choices.
Rogues rock!

could someone make me a raiding build
MH = Heartless or Blade of Infamy
OH = Shard of Azzinoth
i doubt you have either of these weapons, or even a 70. i suggest remx's leveling build while you level your rogue.

Actually yes I was hoping someone might be kind enough..
Read the thread you're posting in.

I'm not remx, but i think i can answer your question. or atleast give you my opinion. i would say get suprise attacks, then start working your way down the assassination tree.
3/3 ruthlessness
2/2 murder
5/5 lethality
1/1 relentless strikes

From there I'd take
Surprise Attacks
Improved Slice and Dice
Aggression
Then I'd start in on assassination.

oh. yeah, do this. i didn't look at your entire talent build(just saw you didnt have suprise attacks and thought it was cookie cutter combat), imp snd. is a must.

SBMrClean, while your math is essentially correct, the conclusions you've drawn from it aren't.
White damage makes up the majority of a raiding rogue's damage output (60%), and hit rating is the most efficient stat that increases it. The fact that hit rating doesn't affect special damage output after it caps is more than offset by the fact that the amount of crit rating it takes to achieve 1% crit is significantly larger than the amount of hit rating it takes to achieve 1% hit. The crit rating attribute itself is less efficient at improving total DPS (even after the special damage cap) than the hit rating attribute due to this difference in their conversions.
There are 2 major reasons hit outweights crit in upping rogue DPS (besides the fact that most of their damage is already white, as Remx said):
1) Combat Potency
2) Poison application (when applicable... is that redundant?)
Your conclusions carry more weight with warriors, due to the nature of rage generation, but for rogues, hit is king.
Nice post, Remx. I spend a lot of time on the EJ forums, especially the warrior and rogue class mechanics threads. This Wowhead post should reach a larger population and help them quite a bit.
EDIT: If you're interested in stats to support the above assertions, check out the guild Abananax on Korgath. Thier mission as a guild in WoW is to put out the highest amount of DPS possible and to down bosses quickly.
As an example, here is a WWS report from Maiden of Virtue:
http://wowwebstats.com/elfr12ylznlje?s=1877-1920
They hold many speed records, including on T6 content. I chose Maiden as a fight that many people would be familair with. They downed her in 43 seconds. Look at the rogue DPS and then check out their armory profiles.

Was the first part of your post aimed at MrClean? Your assertions are in agreement with the response of mine you quoted, is all.
The combat potency argument, while largely correct, is a little tricky. It could be argued that crit rating increases combat potency's effectiveness as the attacks the extra energy is converted into will have an increased chance to crit. Despite this, increased combat potency procs will certainly lead to a larger DPS increase than an increased critical rate of the energy -> damage conversion.
Thanks for linking the WWS report, it's quite interesting.

Yes, that was aimed at MrClean's post... just quoting the relevant section from your response.

Hei rem, I have a thread on this, but I'd like to get your opinion on it as well.
I recently switched from daggers ShS to Hemo ShS (swords). I was wondering about some basic things.
With this build which attributes should I concentrate on, and in which order? Agi? Sta? AP?
Since I made a new character, I started all over, so I dont have hemo or ShS yet obviously. I was wondering how to open up a fight. Would Garrote and then S&D be a good idea?
I know main is supposed to be slow, and OH is fast, but just how slow and fast should they be? For main, should it maybe be 2.5s or higher, and for OH 1.9 and lower?
And I do plan on specing into the Sub tree first to get hemo and ShS, then going back to the Assassination tree to get the remaining talents. Besides it meaning leveling slower (which I dont have a problem with) is this for some other reason a bad idea?
You'll find a decent amount of gear with agility and attack power while levelling, stick with those items.
Garrote/SnD would work well as an opener. Without improved SnD you may have to refresh it during the fight though.
Those speeds are about right for levelling. When it comes to play at 70 you'll want a slower MH and faster OH, around 2.6+ and 1.6-.
Not really. You will level slower, but if that's the sacrifice you're willing to make for the talent route you wish to take then go for it.
