This one works great, i've already tested it
totally agree.
I am pleased, but I admit somewhat baffled, by the dps i am getting from this spec.
I'm AoEing greater damage than Unholy at times, courtesy of Howling Blast's 9.7k crits (in 5 mans, up to 12k in 25 man vault) on multiple targets.
I haven't tried it in Naxx yet, but in Heroics I'm getting about 3000+ dps for a the full run (in Nexus, Drak, and WAY higher in UP due to the "reset-and-AoE" method in the gauntlet part)
I tried a single target mode on the raid dummy using obliterate rather than HB, and found HB was superior. maybe I need to try a different rotation though.
also, those that are switching from Unholy to frost, the rotation is pretty similar, so you'll pick it up pretty fast.
Rotations vary a lot, as I am testing it out still.
PS>IT>HB>BS>BS>rune dump (Frost strike)
IT>HB>IT>IT>IT>rune dump (might be one more IT in there, not sure, i just watch spell CD rather than Rune CD)
for AoE sometimes skip PS so i can sneak HB 2x during the duration of a Frost Fever

I'm a little shocked at how few DKs i have seen trying this spec out.
I guess EJ hasn't given it the thumbs up yet.
or maybe I'm missing something.
I am looking forward to any criticisms comments or nerdrage
...
I just remembered I have too many points in Virulence currently, i reference Kravian's build above; a Superior build for those that are no longer concerned with spell hit.

Depending on how attached you are to having a permanent ghoul, you can also try this out:
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jZG0xxIxdRhoV0sxf0hhxck
It does very similar damage to 0/44/27, but instead of Impurity, you take Tundra Stalker. While Impurity might look like a better talent on the surface, it's actually not. The additional +25% of your AP that Impurity gives your spells is only affecting the coefficients of your spells, not the total damage they do. Tundra Stalker, on the other hand, makes ALL your spells and melee hits do +10% total damage, and gives you an expertise bonus to boot.
So again, what it really comes down to is how much you want that ghoul pet. I'll be honest with you, without going deeper into Unholy to take 2/2 Night of the Dead, your ghoul is just going to die anyway on any boss fight where there's aoe/cleave damage, and then you have to wait 5 mins to summon a new ghoul. Not worth it imo.

27/44/0 is a very solid 2h dps build, as well as bringing some great group/raid utility with both Imp Icy Talons and Abom's Might.
http://www.wowhead.com/?talent=jfVMVh0f0bZG0xxIxbRhoV0s
The 10 points you had in Unholy in your 17/44/10 are a waste, and putting them in Blood is a much better allocation of points. Morbidity is useless in a deep Frost build, since you will be using Frost Strike as your RP dump, not Deathcoil. Ravenous Dead is a nice talent sure, but maxing out VotTW and taking Abom's Might is a much better option, not just for you but for any party/raid you are in as well. Not sure if you have done some rotation digging for this build yet or not, but with this build, what you want to do is this: Before a fight starts, cast Blood Tap to give yourself a Death Rune. Then: IT, OB, OB, BS, FS dump-->IT,OB, BS, OB, FS dump. Cast HB only on Rime procs.
Your one BS per rotation will continually refresh the death rune you started off with. This rotation is for maximum single-target(boss) dps. For trash you can do whatever. Usually I just IT, Pest, HB, FS a few times, HB again. PS is left out of your rotations intentionally. You will NEVER use it with this build. It might seem weird to leave out one of your strikes/diseases, but trust me, it works. Also, if you want a bit more flexibility(room to mess up) in your rotation, you can take Death Rune Mastery instead of Rune Tap/Imp Rune Tap.
Also, you haven't mentioned the 21/50/0 build.

This is what I currently run, and I love it. It has slightly higher personal dps than 27/44/0, at the cost of less raid utility. You take 6 points from Blood, and stick them into Frost, taking Unbreakable Armor and Tundra Stalker. What I like to do is macro UA to my Frost Strike button, so that during the RP dump phase of your rotation, UA will be used every time it's up. This build uses the exact same rotation as the one I outlined above.
For both builds, to have them perform at the optimal level, you'll want either the Sigil of Awareness(Naxx 25, off Heigan) or Sigil of the Frozen Conscience(Grizzly Hills pvp quests), and have 4/5 T7 bonus. With the T7 bonus, your OB's will generate 30 RP each, allowing you to use FS more often during your rotations. And oh yeah, in case it's not uber obvious, you'll want to use Glyph of Obliterate, Glyph of Icy Touch, and Glyph of Frost Strike..

too true. NotD is so awesome, I really missed it once I specced out of Unholy. I meant to say something about the faults of the build. the big one being that it's pretty silly to not take one of the trees' expertise talents.
Thing is, although gargoyle still does ok damage, and there are some strength and weapon dmg boosters in the unholy tree, 21/50/0 seems to make a lot more sense as far as beefing up the stats via bladed armor and the 5% crit increase.

Yeah, so far I prefer 21/50/0 out of all the 2h builds I've tried. It's also performed the best for me, at least with my current level of gear. I really like the simplicity of the rotation you use, and just the "feel" of the build. I'm currently using Death's Bite and the Icy Touch sigil right now. Waiting on getting my Betrayer of Humanity and Sigil of Awareness. Once I get those, the damage on this build should be through the roof.
